The other 2026 defensive back from Brandon Valley, that I already know I need to move up ASAP up our 2026 South Dakota rankings, is Chase Leary Chase Leary 6'1" | 185 lbs | DB Brandon Valley | 2026 State SD who also had himself a sound showing at the 6/9 SDSU prospect camp. The nearly 6’1 190 pounder, had some impressive testing numbers in Brookings, going 9’4 twice in the broad jump showing off his explosion, and a 4.66 with his 40-yard dash. It was just in testing that Chase caught my attention either, as Chase’s range and football IQ has risen since the last eval I got on him during the season as I love the presence around the ball this young man plays. He is up to seven offers since the month of May, with a bunch of NSIC offers and one Pioneer League and is swiftly a stockriser this camp season. Twitter

The more I look at this 2026 defensive back class from South Dakota, the more depth I can see as Chase Leary Chase Leary 6'1" | 185 lbs | DB Brandon Valley | 2026 State SD is one that surely looks like a scholarship-level free safety coming out of Brandon Valley. This young man shows off a sound ball-tracking ability and you can gauge the sideline to sideline range that comes with Chase’s skillsets when you watch his tape. I love his football IQ as another defensive back that is another “right place, right time” type of athlete. My projection shows that Chase is near the top of my board to be a stockriser by next update to keep tracking.
