Following a successful freshman season at Madrid, Severson set out this summer to prove himself this summer. He did just that, earning scholarship offers from Iowa State, Kansas State ad Wisconsin at their camps. He stood out on both sides of the ball last year, catching five passes for 54 yards, three touchdowns and a two-point conversion. Severson impacted the defense with 21 solo tackles, eight stops for loss and 2.5 sacks. He also led the Tiger basketball team with 8.0 rebounds a game to go with 15.4 points an outing. The agility and quick-twitch traits it takes for success on the hardwood, show up on the gridiron. We see that watching his ninth-grade highlight video. Severson's physicality is advanced for a player so young, which shows up in his blocking. He stresses defenses on short routes and using his speed on deep shots.

Physicality is not a problem for Helming, who combines it with a high-motor to look like he's playing a bit faster than everyone else during his freshman highlight video. It's useful film in that it illustrates Helming's versatility and contributions. He blocks, scores as a holder on a fake kick, catches passes, delivers tackles for loss and sells popcorn at halftime. The latter is not true. But he could.

Johnson broke into high school football playing on the Northwest freshman squad in 2024. He flashed the potential to contribute on the varsity, which could be formidable this season with a lot of talent returning. Johnson shows during his ninth-grade highlight video that he could seize the opportunity. He's already a big target with speed. The clips on the tape show him blowing by defenders and going over top of them. Johnson also shows good concentration catching the ball in traffic. He's one to watch in 2025 and beyond.

Lea operated on the Lewis Central freshman team last season, getting his feet wet in one of the state's top programs at developing talent. He certainly has the frame to play the position. Lea also reports training measurements that check out: 225-pound bench, 490 squat, 450 hex bar and 225 clean. Lea's ninth-grade highlight video impresses. It opens with him lining up at H-Back, coming across the formation, catching a short pass and plowing into the end zone. Lea plays the position with physicality whether he's running people over or blocking. He flashes upside coming off the edge. That shouldn't be ruled out as a potential college position.

Ross spent his first season in high school on the fresh/soph team developing in one of the state's most consistently successful programs. When watching his freshman highlight video, Ross shows the potential to contribute on the varsity in 2025. Lining up at H-Back, he's a threat to beat defenses on a route and also blocks well, showing proficiency doing it in the run and pass game. Ross is a good athlete with a frame capable of adding mass and strength without him losing any of it. He's one on which to keep an eye moving forward. A breakout could be coming.
