My first time in Grand Forks was a memorable one, as hundreds of Midwest, national, and even international prep football prospects descended on the University of North Dakota for the Fighting Hawks' Flagship Camp #1 to perform in front of dozens of college coaches and sharpen their craft on the state-of-the-art gridiron turf of the Frederick "Fritz" D. Pollard Jr. Athletic Center. Easily one of the best camps of the summer, PrepRedzone has your exclusive coverage of the top performers, standouts, new names, stock risers, and sleepers who competed on that beautiful Thursday morning in Grand Forks. Session 1's beefy OL/DL best-of-the-best athletes and trench warfare specialists are below!

2027s, 2028s, 2029s: make sure you check out UND on the camp trail next summer!

--

Alpha: [player_tooltip player_id='1489428' first='Evan' last='Zabel'] (Alexandria, MN) 2026. OL. 6'3.25, 288 lbs.

All eyes were on Alexandria's rising senior [player_tooltip player_id='1489428' first='Evan' last='Zabel'] in Grand Forks. The focus of Session 1's final 1v1 period, Zabel rose to the occasion's spotlight and had a great pass pro stretch with some serious potential scholarship money on the line. Zabel, who plays tackle for Minnesota's 2024 Class 5A runner-up Cardinals, is one of the offseason's biggest stock risers in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, and you could absolutely see why during UND's first Flagship Camp of the summer. Projecting to the interior in college, Zabel possesses good size and wears his 288 pounds well, and his technique was arguably the best and most consistent in attendance. Battling against the best of the best in the Big Dog upperclassmen group, Zabel demonstrated a clean pass set that was able to handle speed rushers working vertically and attempting to bend the edge, as well as the strength at the point of attack to drop his anchor and stuff DTs and DEs at the LOS. The Alexandria product was fighting his butt off post contact, and aided by his heavy hands and chest strength, was really able to move some mass once he locked his arms out. Zabel, near the end of pass pro 1v1s, was asked to take multiple reps in a row against a P4 bounceback who had some serious athleticism, and Zabel was ready for the challenge, showing off foot speed, patience, a great base, and the ability to handle speed and twitch out on the edge. The Alexandria product also received a personal facilities tour from OL coach Trevor Olson, and I'm sure the North Dakota staff will be keeping a close eye on the local MN product through the first few weeks of 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='1489428' first='Evan' last='Zabel'] - Alexandria

Stock Riser: Antayos Kabaalu (Miles MacDonell, Manitoba) 2028! DT. 6'1, 282 lbs.

If you're curious about how valuable and rare big, athletic, defensive linemen bodies are, look into what they are going for in the transfer portal at the next level. Canadian rising sophomore Antayos "Tay" Kabaalu is yet another freaky prospect from up north brought to the Upper Midwest's summer camp circuit by RecruitReady, a fantastic speed and skill development organization out of Winnipeg, Kabaalu is one of the most physically impressive freshmen I've seen in my time scouting, as his 280+ pounds looks good given the age, and he's a good athlete who tested very well for his age and youth. Additionally, the kid came alive during 1v1s, and particularly, the board drill. Against an FBS-offered OT, Kabaalu put the entire UND Flagship Camp on notice by getting up and under the rising senior and bringing his hips behind his heavy-handed punch to nearly lift the 300+ pound opponent off his feet, backwards a couple years, and nearly onto his butt. It got UND DL coach Tyson Maeva incredibly hyped, and the rest of the group echoed the excitement, simultaneously all realizing that this kid was built different. During pass pro 1v1s, Kabaalu also did a great job of keeping his hands active, and he had owned a ton of power at the point of attack, as well as loose hips and a natural, comfortable rushing style that brought some pass rush juice from the interior. In exciting fashion, Kabaalu was pulled aside by the UND staff and given his first college offer. What a performance from the young Canadian defensive linemen.

https://twitter.com/Antayoskabaalu/status/1933244825152991276

Top Performers

Todd Marx (Appleton East, WI) 2026. OL. 6'3.25", 287 lbs.

It seems like the town of Appleton, Wisconsin and its three high school football programs cannot stop producing big, beefy, athletic linemen on both side of the ball. Fellow PRZ Upper Midwest scout [player_tooltip player_id='1292716' first='Nate' last='Wahl'] and I, when looking for who 70G was on the roster, looked at each other and nodded in mutual non-surprise that the iOL mauler was from Appleton. Big-bodied OG Marx, coming out of Appleton East High School, was easily one of the biggest winners of the North Dakota Flagship Camp, walking away with NSIC scholarship offers from Minnesota State-Mankato and Minnesota-Duluth after enforcing his physical will on padded DL opponents all morning long in Grand Forks. After driving more than 9 hours to get to the University of North Dakota, Marx came to play, showing off an overall tenacious ability to absorb and redistribute momentum post-contact, as his anchor and balance were outstanding against large and powerful rushers. The 287 lber. had a knack for gaining inside hand placement, winning at the contact point, running his feet, and then pile driving opponents into the turf in memorable fashion. Marx was the best finisher on the day in fact, and he always seemed to be on his feet and in advantageous body position from start to finish through a rep. Marx also earned himself a personal tour from UND OL Coach Trevor Olson for his performance, and in addition to the scholarship offers he earned in Grand Forks, he'll have some important eyes watching him the first few weeks of his senior season.

Todd Marx - Appleton East

[player_tooltip player_id='1292610' first='Peyton' last='Seil'] (Bismarck Century, ND) 2027. OL. 6'4.5", 313 lbs.

Only a rising junior, Bismarck, North Dakota product and Century High School standout hog molly [player_tooltip player_id='1292610' first='Peyton' last='Seil'] looked like a potential Missouri Valley kid, and he's having a heckuva summer camp circuit in 2025. This was my first exposure to Seil, but I heard good things coming in from PRzDAK Lead Scout [player_tooltip player_id='1292716' first='Nate' last='Wahl'], and Seil more than lived up to the hype during 1v1 padded competition. Verified 6'4+ and nearly 315 pounds, Seil wears his massive size well, and he knew how to use it, especially at the contact point. Able to handle explosive get-offs, twitchy interior rushers and moves, and some of the most powerful defensive linemen in attendance, Seil was flexible for his size and age and used leg drive and power to earn hard-fought wins over some of the best DL competition in Grand Forks. He'll need his junior film to be up to snuff, but Seil is having a heckuva offseason and I loved watching him work this month in his home state of North Dakota. Missouri Valley schools: be on watch!

[player_tooltip player_id='1255905' first='Chris' last='Bridges'] (Duluth Denfeld, MN) 2026. OL. 6'2.5", 307 lbs.

Duluth product and Denfeld High School rising 6'2.5", 307 lbs. OL [player_tooltip player_id='1255905' first='Chris' last='Bridges'] is undoubtedly one of Minnesota's biggest winners of the summer camp szn, exploding up the rankings chart as he earned NSIC offer after NSIC offer thanks to strong consecutive performances at a variety of Missouri Valley prospect camps this month. Bridges was outstanding at North Dakota's first Flagship Camp of the summer, showing off physicality, physicality, and did I mention, physicality? Bridges was beating up DL during both the board drill and 1v1 pass pro reps, and he did a great job of maintaining good body positioning, staying square and patient, and not overextending, and he was able to easily move and dominate DL once he got his heavy hands on. With a balanced anchor, noticeable lateral agility, and the ability to handle both twitch and power with ease, Bridges at NSIC coaches in attendance very fired up about the rising senior. What a day and what a summer for the OL from the 218!

[player_tooltip player_id='1255905' first='Chris' last='Bridges'] - Duluth Denfeld

Jack Ohman (Sioux City East, IA) 2026. DL. 6'4, 227 lbs.

Coming out of an always-fruitful Sioux City area, Ohman had a great showing in every phase of the North Dakota Flagship Camp earlier this month. Measuring at an eye-catching and verified 6'4, 225+, Ohman was one of the most athletic defensive linemen in attendance, and he put the speed, quickness, and explosiveness into good use during 1v1s. Ohman's ability to go speed to power was arguably the best of the entire session, and he caught my eye with both twitchy, effective inside moves as well as imposing bull rushes that even left a couple of OL flat on their butts. Ohman was also bendy, and he did a great job of utilizing angles and playing half-a-man during pass rush settings, and he overall did a great job of staying active, playing with speed, and utilizing a deep bag of tools and pass rush moves during competition. Should be a big senior season for the East High School standout.

[player_tooltip player_id='1255891' first='Ben' last='Knaup'] (East Ridge, MN) 2026. 6'2.25, 219 lbs.

I got to see Woodbury product and East Ridge High School rising senior [player_tooltip player_id='1255891' first='Ben' last='Knaup'] this winter at a DL workout in the Twin Cities, so I already knew what was about to happen when I saw [player_tooltip player_id='1255891' first='Ben' last='Knaup'] participating in the North Dakota Flagship Camp. Knaup was possibly the most athletic linemen in attendance on either side of the ball, and he's a lean 219 pounds with a ton of room to fill in at the next level. Knaup is also a heckuva competitior, and he came alive during 1v1s, turning the corner and showing off a get-off/bend combination that OTs simply could not handle during pass rush 1v1s. His leverage, ability to drop his hips, dip and rip, and first step made him nearly impossible to stop, and Knaup could also switch it up and beat OTs to their inside shoulder thanks to some twitchy lateral agility. With great film against Minnesota 6A competition, Knaup is one of the biggest sleepers in the Minnesota right now.

William Flottmeyer (La Crosse Aquinas, WI) 2026. DL. 6'2.5", 241 lbs.

There were some strong contingent of high school programs that descended on Grand Forks for the Fighting Hawks' first Flagship Camp of the summer, but in my opinion, La Crosse Aquinas had the best showing of any single high school that showed up and showed out. It seemed like every Aquinas product was balling out in Grand Forks, and Flottmeyer was up there with as a potential favorite. Big, strong, thick, and athletic, Flottmeyer originally caught my attention thanks to his outstanding hustle. This kid would not take his foot off the gas until he was back in line waiting for his next rep, and was performing and putting in effort like this was the job interview that it was, showing off focus, motivation, and coachability throughout the first session of North Dakota's Flagship Camp #1. Not only was Flottmeyer working his tail off, he was also winning the vast majority of his reps, winning with speed, twitch, bend, and powerful hands. Flottmeyer proved he could also unlock his hips, cut tight off a OT's backside, and bend at the top of the arc. Whoever lands Flottmeyer is getting a stud.

William Flottmeyer - LAX Aquinas

Honorable Mentions

Nickolas Jay (Dakota Ridge, CO) OL. 2026. 6'2, 252 lbs.

One of the better athletes coming out of the high-end OL group that descended on North Dakota's first Flagship Camp of the summer, Nickolas Jay made his way up from Colorado and earned himself some scholarship money, heading home with a Bemidji State out of the Northern Sun and getting himself on the radar of a ton of regional competitors. Jay was technically-sound, with a smooth, patient pass set and a heckuva anchor that he could drop effectively post-contact, stonewalling power rushers in their tracks. Utilizing leverage, technique, and his strength, Jay earned some impressive wins over strong competition over the course of UND's first Flagship Camp.

[player_tooltip player_id='669334' first='Gus' last='Werremeyer'] (Fargo Davies, ND) 2026. DL. 6'.25, 268 lbs.

A good athlete coming from nearby Fargo, Werremeyer was built for interior DL play, and he had a solid day during every phase of North Dakota's Flagship Camp #1 up in Grand Forks. Werremeyer's speed - especially for his size - showed up well during drills and indy, and he ran the hoop well and showed some real mobility for nearly 270 pounds going into his senior year of high school. Werremeyer also had some juice from the interior in pass rush 1v1s, showing off the most twitch of the DT tackle and snatching some ankles in the process. Werremeyer earned some of the most memorable wins of the 1v1 period of the UND Prospect Camp, and I love a big body with some twitch in the middle.

[player_tooltip player_id='1590572' first='Darion' last='Bitz'] (Bismarck Century, ND) 2026. DL. 6', 231 lbs.

Not the biggest athlete in attendance at the first UND Flagship Camp of the summer, Bitz was still a top performer, as he owned a nasty and effective bull rush who pulled off four straight wins in a row thanks to his signature move. Talk about power!

[player_tooltip player_id='1648453' first='Wyatt' last='Henderson'] (South St. Paul, MN) 2027. OL. 6'.25, 288 lbs.

Representing the 651, Henderson caught the eye of both PRZ scouts in attendance at the UND Flagship Prospect Camp, earning some hard-fought wins during 1v1s thanks to his strength, balance, and effective hand usage. Henderson earned some strong Ws throughout the day of 1v1 competition.

Charlie Kirchner (La Crosse Aquinas, WI) 2027. DL. 6'3.75", 225 lbs.

Easily passing the eye test, rising junior DL Kirchner was another member of the heralded Aquinas squad of prospects who converged on Grand Forks for the UND Flagship Camp. With a massive wingspan and a ton of room to fill in, Kirchner was strong and effective when he. was able to get hands on and lock out, and I loved his leverage, as he was consistently the low man in 1v1 competition and won his fair share of reps throughout the morning.

Chase Schams (La Crosse Aquinas, WI) 2027. 6'1, 306 lbs.

Talk about some Wisconsin beef! Remember when I was talking about that excellent contingent of Aquinas standouts to make their way to Grand Forks? Schams was another favorite of mine, as the massive brick of an OG was unmovable and unstoppable during the board drill period of the UND Flagship Camp, with great leverage for his size, dominant power at the point of attack, balance, and leg drive that simply couldn't be matched by any DL or OL opponent. Didn't get to watch him as much as I'd have liked to during 1v1 pass pro reps, but this kid must be a road-grader in the run game. Get out the way or get run over!

Elijah Dieger (Foley, MN) 2027. DT. 6'4.25, 351 lbs.

A towering, colossal rising junior defensive tackle out of the St. Cloud area and Foley High School who seemed to block out the sun on that beautiful morning in Grand Forks, Elijah Dieger has now gone back-to-back camps with a standout performance, as he also caught PRzMN's eye at the UWEC Big Man Camp earlier this month over the other border in Wisconsin. Dieger's got lead in his hands and knows how to use them, routinely knocking OL backward and off their mark at first contact, and when he locked his arms out he seemed to ragdoll OL in impressive fashion. His bull rush was also unstoppable against both upperclassmen and underclassmen talent. While keeping his hands active, Dieger's technique is a bit raw, but he's got some wiggle and quickness for a big guy and is a good athlete who is a matchup nightmare from the interior of the defensive line.

Owen Sisson (DeKalb, IL) 2026. DL. 6'.75", 265 lbs.

The lone Land of Lincoln standout on my Session 1 Top Performers' list, Sisson was one. of the twitchiest DL at the UND Flagship Camp, and he had some major pop at the point of attack, proving himself as one of. the most physical DL in attendance who didn't mind scraping and fighting for wins rep to rep.

[player_tooltip player_id='1120527' first='Colton' last='Johnson'] (Princeton, MN) 2027. DL. 6'2, 205 lbs.

No doubt stock rising performance by Princeton's lean & mean rising junior EDGE [player_tooltip player_id='1120527' first='Colton' last='Johnson']. In the top tier of athleticism at the UND Flagship Camp, Johnson was long, twitchy, and had surprising power given the size and age. Johnson had a couple powerful, dominant finishes against large, upperclassmen competition, and his length was an asset during pass pro reps. I got my eye on this kid during 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='1407850' first='Carter' last='Michlitsch'] (St. Mary's Central, ND) 2026. OL. 6'1, 261 lbs.

Excellent base and balance helped Michlitsch earn a big W against a massive, much larger DT opponent who was attempting to bull rush hum over like it was a Running of the Bulls. Tough kid, strong interior presence, and doesn't mind going against the best and the biggest.

[player_tooltip player_id='551462' first='Bryce' last='Bangasser'] (Brandon Valley, SD) 2026. OL. 6'2, 270 lbs.

Good size, good technique, and no stranger to high-quality competition, Bangasser had some dominant wins and finishes that compelled me to mention him in this standout feature from the North Dakota Flagship Camp #1.

Jaden Ubben (Cedar Falls, IA) 2026. DL. 6'4, 222 lbs.

A monster sleeper out of Cedar Falls High School in Iowa, DL Jaden Ubben arguably had the best testing performance of any linemen in attendance, and at a strapping, cut up 6'4, 222 lbs., Ubben passed the eye test with flying colors. Showing off a low, explosive get off, twitch, and physicality at the point of attack, Ubben was one of my favorite prospects of the opening portions of the UND Flagship Camp. His bend and ability to run the hoop, as well as burst and play speed, showed up very well during indy and positional drills prior to 1v1s.
