National Preps Collegiate Showcase: Top WR Performers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The National Preps Collegiate Showcase was held recently at Archbishop Spalding HS (MD). It was the 16th year of the NP Showcase that consist of some of the top talent in the Mid-Atlantic region putting on a show for over 125+ college coaches from FCS/D2/D3 schools. While he wasn't in the group I was running, I had multiple people come up to me to tell me how good of a day Brayden had, and that he won all his reps in 1v1s. The film backed that up as he was lights out in drills and could not be stopped in 1v1s. Measuring in at 6'0" 173 and running a strong 4.7 40 that fits his play style. Brayden is a high level route runner, able to stick his foot in the ground and make tight cuts on a dime. Deceptive change of direction skills and quick feet. A defender may think he has him locked up and the next second he's snapped off his route &amp; crossing their face and open by a step making the catch. Brayden also comes off the line strong and physical enough to get off of press. With strong hands as well, he consistently catches the ball away from his body and snatching it out of the air. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A productive all around WR, Brayden offers plenty of value at the position. The first way he did so was posting one of the top 40s of the day running a 4.48. He's got the burst and twitch to go along with that breakaway speed. Dangerous with the ball in his hands, he gets YAC. Either making guys miss in space or running hard through arm tackles, Coumel can make the big play. Coumel showed nice route running skills during drill work. Able to shift/drop his weight for quick change direction and push out of breaks with no loss of momentum, equally good separation from defenders. He demonstrated the ability to track the ball well and soft hands, making catches look smooth and easy.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Coumel is a versatile playmaking WR, able to line out out wide or in the slot. An excellent router runner, Mason has great burst off the LOS and has the ability to beat press man coverage. He is very smooth in his running and movements. With quick feet, always on his toes and able to stem his routes with precision, drop his weight &amp; make sharp crisp cuts that throw the defender off balance. Mason has great COD ability and oily hips, which allowed to get wide open on basically every 1v1 rep. Mason also displayed great hands and the ability to find/track the ball and go get it. He has excellent body control, able to put himself in the best position to make the catch, as well as being able to go up and get it over top the defender.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mason is a receiver that is consistent and has the ability to make plays across all 3 level of the passing game. Able to line up out wide and get vertical or do damage in the slot, he is a do it all WR. He measured in a 6'0" 199lbs and a 9'1" broad jump. Looking the part on the hoof, Ty has nice filled out frame with broad shoulders and good length. He is a natural pass catcher with strong hands and will go attack that ball at full extension. Combine that with athleticism and body control at the POA, it makes it almost impossible for the defender to get their hands on the ball for a PBU when guarding Ty. He is a very fluid runner, smooth in and out of his breaks and knows how to push vertical / step on the DBs toes before making his break to get separation. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ty is getting lots of interest and offers from the FCS level this spring and should continue to do so. In drills he showcase excellent foot speed and COD ability. He can drop his weight and with twitchy hips, make cuts on a dime. In 1v1's Matt gets a great release at the LOS and is quick and shifty. An excellent route runner with strong hands, he can go and make the tough catch. He has very nice athleticism and leaping ability to his size and is dynamic after the catch. He measured in at 6'4"+ 189lbs with a 9'1 1/2" SBJ. He looks the part with his length and a frame that will fill out with good muscle. With a long smooth stride, Cameron can easily get over top the defense and go get the ball. An athletic vertical big X receiver who plucks the ball out of the air, he has traits that fit a specific role every team needs. During 1v1's Cameron displayed fluid movements, strong hands, nice leaping ability, and the ability to go and make the tough catch. His size/athletic combo skill set will certainly intrigue schools.
