With the end of the 2026 season coming to a close, I will be taking a first look at some of the Class of 2027 prospects currently ranked. Most of these prospects have more highlights available for evaluation and this is a good time to take a look at them before the next rankings update.

Dosho's highlights show that he plays with power, explosiveness, and a finisher's mentality. There's a lot of evidence on film of his ability to work well on combo blocks and climb to the second level to hit his target. I'm impressed with Dosho's punch power and his ability to move defensive linemen. In the pass protection clips I watched, I thought he showed good discipline and played with good leverage. Size-wise, he has the traits of an offensive guard.

Andrews wins a lot of reps in his highlights with burst, speed, and constant backfield disruption. On the first play, he stands up at defensive tackle and times the snap perfectly. Andrews beats the tackle outside, slips past the running back, and sacks the quarterback deeps. There's several plays where he times the snap perfectly. Andrews has the ability to attack both outside and inside traps, splits double teams, and finish plays behind the line of scrimmage against both the run and pass. I'm impressed with his timing. He's a strong run defender as well. Since he beats a lot of linemen with speed, would like to see what his pass-rush repertoire looks like (might see that offseason if he posts clips of him working out or at a camp).

Johnson is a strong safety who plays with confidence and fluidity of a cornerback. He reacts to anything in front of him, as shown on a bubble screen where he diagnosed the play quickly and delivered a hard hit. His highlights show that he states patient in coverage and likes to read the quarterbacks eyes. That lead to him getting multiple interceptions where he tracks under thrown passes and catches them at their highest point. Johnson's ability to match up with receivers in the slot helps give his defense an advantage. He definitely understands the game and trusts his instincts. I'd ask to see more plays of him handling the run, but I think he's a cornerback playing safety, and I'm impressed with that I see from him coverage wise so far.

After watching film of Trowell playing both wide receiver and quarterback, I can see why the coaching staff wants to put the football in his hands as much as possible. As a wide receiver, he wins vertically with speed. there's a play where he gets inside leverage of the defensive back on go route and catches a contested pass for a big gain. I also like Trowell's strong run-after-the-catch ability. There's a play where he catches a stop route, spins out of multiple tackles, and fights his way downfield for extra. Trowell is explosive and I can see his offensive skill set definitely setting him up to play the slot receiver position at the next level. It's worth noting that he does line up on the outside. Trowell has vision, balance, and pure speed.
