Both touchdowns came on short routes, but Edwards quickly showed what separates him from the pack, his acceleration and speed in the open field. Once he split closing defenders, there was no catching him.

This performance comes on the heels of a monster junior campaign in which Edwards earned Offensive Player of the Year honors for Perryville, racking up 1,057 all-purpose yards. A versatile threat who can score from anywhere on the field, Edwards is already proving that his senior season will be another statement year.

With his playmaking ability and consistency, expect Edwards’ name to become even more familiar on the recruiting trail as he continues to produce big numbers in 2026.

A player that has stood out to me multiple times when seeing live, Coumel did it again at the National Preps Showcase. The first way he did so was posting one of the top 40s of the day running a 4.48. He’s got the burst and twitch to go along with that breakaway speed. Dangerous with the ball in his hands, he gets YAC. Either making guys miss in space or running hard through arm tackles, Coumel can make the big play. Coumel showed nice route running skills during drill work. Able to shift/drop his weight for quick change direction and push out of breaks with no loss of momentum, equally good separation from defenders. He demonstrated the ability to track the ball well and soft hands, making catches look smooth and easy.

Coumel is a versatile playmaking WR, able to line out out wide or in the slot. That makes him an asset to any style of offense and should be on plenty of FCS/D2 boards as he continues to rise as a prospect.

Coumel was dangerous in the slot for Team Blurrr on the weekend. He showed nice route running skills, with quick feet and ability to change direction on a dime he was able to get open time after time. Impactful on crossers, quick hits and in the middle of zone, Coumel showed the ability to take short passes and turn them into big plays. He is dynamic after the catch with good wiggle and fluid movement. Was a strong safety valve for QB Caydan Finley Caydan Finley 6'4" | 163 lbs | QB Mt. Saint Joseph | 2027 MD , always being open when he needed to get the ball out before a sack was called. Coumel is a big time playmaker at WR and colleges is starting to take notice as he has multiple visits lined up this month.

Edwards turned a routine screen pass into a remarkable 99-yard touchdown, showcasing impressive acceleration and balance as he broke through arm tackles on his way to the end zone. He’s truly the Swiss Army knife for Perryville. After watching film, it’s clear that the team consistently works to get him the ball in open space, where he can make plays all over the field. Whether it’s on screen passes, in the wildcat formation, or as a deep threat at receiver, Edwards proves to be a versatile weapon.

This past season, Edwards rushed for 228 yards and 4 touchdowns from his wildcat position, while also recording 775 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. His ability to impact the game in multiple ways makes him a key player to watch.
