I spent most of my time with the OL/DL group, but I did grasp a few standouts that caught my attention in the early going of the Minnesota Camp. A handful of new names, linebackers on the rise, the best DB I watched, and more are all featured in our last piece of content from the Minnesota prospect camp.

[player_tooltip player_id='1247065' first='Benjamin' last='Bergan'], LB, Anoka 2027

You couldn't miss seeing the explosive traits that Anoka linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1247065' first='Benjamin' last='Bergan'] had at the Minnesota camp. He was one of a few Minnesota 2027s that I felt had a good sized college coach audience during the reps I got to watch during Monday's camp. He also showed off plenty of sudden movement that jumped out me quickly too. Benjamin has been a consistent standout at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcases too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1255895' first='Max' last='Jones'], LB, Rosemount 2026

Max is a linebacker target out of Rosemount that has caught my attention for a bit, and it didn't take long to see his athletic traits pop out during the testing session at the Minnesota Camp. I could tell that Max is a linebacker that plays with a grueling blue-collar type motor that also in my eyes showed off eruptive movement in the reps I got to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='615314' first='JR' last='Vierstraete'], LB, Marshall 2026

JR was one that in the live reps you could see the short area vision and progressive burst at the point of attack in the reps I watched. One that surely projects as a linebacker at the next-level yet gets plenty of reps on take at defensive end for the Marshall Tigers.

RJ Houle, DB, Becker 2027

A new name from my neck of the woods, was 2027 cornerback RJ Houle out of Becker. He impressed me with his encourging speed and also possessed the change of direction. One I will be tracking from the 4A State champions as an one that is very under the radar at the moment in the 2027 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1359045' first='Paxton' last='Hove'], DB, Shakopee 2027

Paxton was another 2027 new name that got on my radar at the Minnesota Camp. The 5'9 170 pound corner from Shakopee possessed the springy athletic movement for his size. He also is quick and has growing instinctiveness to the point of attack which caught my attention on tape.

[player_tooltip player_id='402807' first='Brandon' last='Walton'], CB, Kenosha Bradford 2026

I spent most of my time with the OL/DL group but man, Brandon surely was one of the best cornerbacks I saw in attendance. He passed the eye test at corner with flying colors at 6'2 170 pounds and attacked each rep I watched with very noticable intent with his movement. He was also a favorite by my colleague [player_tooltip player_id='1292679' first='Oliver' last='West'] during Monday's Minnesota camp. He holds three D1 offers and surely should gather more as we head deeper into camp season.

[player_tooltip player_id='998519' first='JJ' last='Chapman'], QB, Oak Creek 2028

The most prominent QB talent in the 2028 class in the Midwest for sure, struck a chord with my early live eval almost immediately. JJ possessed some of the best footwork I saw in the 2028 QB group as there was plenty of balance displayed with that skillset. Love this young man's poise and character he has for his age as this week he also picked up his first Big Ten offer from Purdue.

[player_tooltip player_id='1581364' first='Jacob' last='Hansen'], LB, Park Center 2026

Jacob might not have been the biggest linebacker in attendance, but I was intrigued with a few skillsets he brought to the table in the reps I was able to watch on Monday. He logged a ton of tackles a junior at Park Center, and showed off encouraging ball instincts in space and in the backfield.

Rylan Pera, DB, Kapolei, HI 2026

Rylan is now the third Hawaiian that has caught my attention on the Midwest camp trail in the last couple years and there was plenty of skillsets that impressed me during the live eval I got at the Minnesota Camp. Every rep I watched out of Rylan possessed excellent balance especially with utilization of his change of direction. One that from the live eval, I am very surprised his first offer hasn't come in yet from the 2026 class.

Jake Sokoll, TE, Mahtomedi 2027

I didn't catch a ton of tight end reps during the Minnesota camp on Monday, but the Minnesotan that stood out in that group was Jake Sokoll. He passed the eye test with his athletic movement to the T in my eyes and is a TE prospect I wish I could have watched more reps on Monday, as the tape Jake put together as a sophomore is encourging in my eyes.
