We're winding down with our 2028 rankings update coverage, but before we move on, we want to put a bow on things. We update rankings 3-4 times a year, with each update serving a different purpose. After a spring rankings update designed to catch up and add players we missed in the fall, the late summer update will reflect changes in depth charts and factor in summer camp performances.

So while we want to highlight guys who moved up in the spring, we also want to make space for players we thing could rise in the rankings later this year. Here are five offensive players who could rise in the next rankings update.

Potential August Rankings Risers

[player_tooltip player_id='1616122' first='Jabraylan' last='Patterson'], QB, West Iredell

Whenever a guy gets one early offer, he immediately gets put in a unique bucket in our minds when it comes to rankings. We first trust our eyes, but we also know that college coaches are smart. We have Patterson ranked 40th in the class, knowing that his potential is much better than that. However, we'd like to see more before moving him too high, too quickly. But, if Patterson goes to other camps and continues to put up eye-popping performances, it will be too much to ignore and he'll be one of the first players we bump in August.

[player_tooltip player_id='1616112' first='Jonah' last='El-Amin'], QB, Enloe

One of two talented quarterbacks at Enloe, El-Amin's stat line could be somewhat pedestrian this fall, at least when compared to some of the state leaders. But, he has excellent arm talent and he's on a list of guys I'm trying to see throw this summer. Assuming I can make it out to an Enloe practice, I plan to do a full evaluation on the rising sophomore passer. He has the size and arm to impress and I have a feeling I could leave that practice ready to move him up our rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='1616145' first='Henry' last='Evans'], TE, Rolesville

I always struggle with knowing where to rank high-upside tight ends, especially those without truly elite size. It's a difficult position to evaluate and there seems to be a higher-than-normal miss rate, leading to players slowly slipping down the rankings. I think we may have made the opposite mistake with Evans though, initially ranking him too low. A move up the rankings could be in order if Evans continues to get stronger and we hear that he has strong camp visits this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1687429' first='Easton' last='McCullen'], OL, Union Pines

Union Pines is another school on my list of potential summer stops and I've heard excellent things about McCullen from the coaching staff. It's unclear if he'll even start this year, but McCullen might be too talented to keep off the field. I'm looking forward to getting an in-person look as he doesn't have much film, and that's always helpful in getting a more complete evaluation, especially for the offensive line.

[player_tooltip player_id='1687745' first='Tee' last='Hollifield'], OL, Shelby

I think we have a tendency towards cautiousness when it comes to taller, thinner offensive linemen. Sometimes, that's for the best, but I've gone back to the film on Hollifeld and I think it warrants another look. He was a freshman starter at left tackle and an all-conference player. He's a great basketball player and profiles as a future star. I'll just need later confirmation that he's actually putting on some weight this summer. If he's even 10-15 pounds heavier while maintaining his footwork, he's probably worth bumping into the top 50.
