The top tight end prospect in our 2028 rankings, Evans is more of a hybrid-receiver/big slot. He split time with other talented tight ends, but thrived as the downfield threat, making some really impressive catches throughout the year. I’d expect his numbers to tick up a bit as a junior, but his importance to the Rolesville offense is already obvious.

Evans’ play strength doesn’t just show up as an in-line blocker and lead blocker at H-Back, it really shows at the catch point, too. He’s quick off the line and reads zone coverage to find pockets of space and make things easy for his quarterback. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him continue to get bigger, but his ability to track the ball in the air and his stick hands have him as our early TE1 in the 2028 class.

Evans flashed as a freshman, catching 11 passes for 154 yards, with a great touchdown rate, scoring four times. He’s a guy who is starting to get some recognition, especially after earning a Charlotte offer this spring. We expect him to take another step forward as a sophomore and we’re expecting big things from the H-Back/tight end hybrid.
