In the month of June, we always give our rankings a fresh update and add more players to each class. We kicked off our ranking update series with the 2028 class. Last week, we continued with the 2027 class, ranking the top 125 juniors going into the 2025 football season. In case you missed it, you can check out our 2027 rankings RIGHT HERE. And this week, we finished up the ranking update with a brand new 2026 ranking, featuring the Top 200 2026 prospects in Oklahoma. Following each ranking update, we also dive into the rankings and talk about the players that are standing out and what makes them among the best in their class. Earlier this week, we put out a breakdown on the top five stock risers, followed by the top five newcomers. In this breakdown, we're putting that spotlight on the defensive back position with five DBs you need to follow going into this season.
[player_tooltip player_id='403509' first='Adam' last='Auston'] - Lawton MacArthur

Lawton MacArthur standout and Arkansas commit [player_tooltip player_id='403509' first='Adam' last='Auston'] has been a 2026 prospect we've liked for a long time. While his future position could vary from time to time, he's always been a prospect that's impressed us simply from a playmaking ability. He's always in the right place at the right time and when you look at his film or see him in person, the athleticism and size is off the charts. Auston continues to be the top DB in the state's 2026 class from the safety position.

[player_tooltip player_id='1179994' first='Da'Jon' last='Green'] - Choctaw

Choctaw cornerback [player_tooltip player_id='1179994' first='Da'Jon' last='Green'] emerged around 18 months ago as one of the top cornerbacks to watch in the state's 2026 class. As we've mentioned in the past, Choctaw has done a great job of developing and producing big defensive backs that can play with a lot of versatility and overall talent. Green would become the latest Oklahoma standout cornerback to commit to Boston College. They snagged one of the top guys in the '25 class as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='402368' first='Carter' last='Langenderfer'] - Owasso

Owasso defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='402368' first='Carter' last='Langenderfer'] is another 2026 prospect that we first started paying attention to around 18 months ago. Following his sophomore season, he was somewhat of an unknown in this class but that didn't last long. He had a really strong offseason and then carried that momentum into the 2024 football season, becoming one of the top DBs in the class. His recruitment really started to pick up and earlier this year, he would commit to Oklahoma State.

[player_tooltip player_id='858871' first='Daijon' last='Gaines'] - Union

If Union defensive back and Tulsa commit [player_tooltip player_id='858871' first='Daijon' last='Gaines'] is healthy, he's one of the best prospects in the state's 2026 class. Gaines had a rough junior season where he had to miss significant time. It appears that Gaines is back to 100 percent and he's going to be hungrier than ever to get back on the field and have an impact on Friday nights. He's also a track standout and if this spring was any indication, he's going to play some offense this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='338550' first='Emory' last='Snyder'] - Bixby

Bixby's [player_tooltip player_id='338550' first='Emory' last='Snyder'] turned into one of the best defensive backs in the state last season. Lining up at a cornerback position, Snyder was tested early on and it seemed like he passed every time. He's a long and athletic corner that plays the game with a lot of confidence and energy. Then he makes play after play to back it up. Earlier this year, Snyder committed to West Virginia and he continues to have his best football ahead of him.
