checks just about every box you have from a safety prospect or even that linebacker/safety hybrid position that we are seeing more and more of. His future at the college level might be on defense but don’t overlook the impact that Auston can have for the Highlanders on offense. Auston first emerged a few years ago as one of the top prospects in the state’s 2026 class. There was a lot of upside and the ceiling for him was incredibly high. Over the last two years, he’s started to realize that potential and continues to get better every time we’ve watched him in person. This year, he could be one of the top two-way players in the state.

continues to be one of the more intriguing defensive prospects in the state’s 2026 class. Auston has committed to Arkansas but he’s still one of the names to watch moving forward in this class. When we first watched Auston, we saw a safety who had unbelievable instincts and could change the game in the blink of an eye. Auston also has the size that could make him more of a hybrid defender when it comes to the next level. He looks like a prospect that could fit in nicely as a linebacker or a safety in college. For now, we still have him listed as the top overall defensive back in an absolutely loaded DB class. But don’t be surprised if he ends up moving to a different position between now and when the final 2026 rankings come out a year from now. In our opinion, Auston has an incredibly high ceiling moving forward and that’s put him into the top five.

is another Arkansas commit to look out for on the defensive side of the ball. Auston is one of the best defenders in the state this season and we’ve been high on him as a prospect since the beginning of this year. His sophomore film really stood out to us and we think that he’s taken his game to another level this year. The first thing that should stand out to someone when they watch Auston are his natural instincts on that side of the ball. That has allowed him to make quite a few plays from the secondary this season. Now, Auston is a prospect that might end up moving positions at the next level. He’s continuing to grow and it wouldn’t be surprising if he eventually becomes a linebacker at the next level. Wherever he plays, he’ll be a playmaker.

is an outstanding defensive prospect that still has his best football ahead of him. We watched Auston’s sophomore film and we saw a safety who’s instincts were some of the best that we’ve seen from a sophomore. And then we got to see Auston in person multiple times on the 7v7 circuit and he continued to impress us every time we saw him. Whether he was lined up at safety or was moving closer to the line of scrimmage as a linebacker or a hybrid defender, Auston is an absolute game-wrecker. If Auston continues to grow and develop his game, he’s going to be one of the top defenders in the state’s 2026 class.

is arguably the most intriguing defensive prospect to watch this season. First off, we have Auston listed this time around as a defensive back because he is one of the top safeties in the state. But this offseason, we watched Auston a handful of times at various 7v7 tournaments and it felt like he just kept getting bigger. We started to wonder if Auston would fit more naturally at the next level at the linebacker position. But for now, we still have him ranked as the state’s top defensive back prospect. His instincts are off the charts and he is primed for a very big junior season.
