Happy spring rankings update from the staff at Prep Redzone. This is probably my favorite rankings update of the cycle each year, as we've reevaluated several prospects after seeing them in camp settings and caught up on a few players we missed in the last update immediately after the season. We've got a loaded schedule of rankings pieces and we're starting Monday with reports on the 2026 quarterbacks.

This rankings update, I'm doing things a bit differently. Rather than simply telling you which players moved up, I'm going behind-the-scenes to say why they jumped, whether it was a re-evaluation, a camp performance, or something else.

A tall, left-handed quarterback, Misocky has the tools to be an elite prospect. He played for Covenant Day last season but will see a step up in competition as he transfers over to Charlotte Catholic. There, he'll need to prove he can make good decisions in the running game in a Wing T system to succeed. But as a pure passer, we like him a lot, moving him higher in the rankings than any former watch list passer.

Justice doesn't have a ton of varsity film, but played well last season. In camp settings this spring, he's proven himself accurate and has held his own against some other established passers. That helped him move from the watchlist to the rankings this update, with the potential to move up further in the fall.

I saw Bick play in the playoffs and liked what I saw from the senior. I initially kept him on the watch list last rankings update, but now I'm ready to move him into the rankings. He has a lively arm and enough accuracy to compete as one of the better quarterbacks in the Charlotte area, even in a Wing T system at Charlotte Catholic.

We've seen Stewart in a few camp settings and it's time to move him into the rankings. He has a good arm and consistently performs close to the guys higher in the rankings in the showcases he attends. We simply need to see a bit more of his in-season film before we're ready to move him higher. But, he's a guy we like enough to move off the watch list and into the rankings.

Payne is getting more and more consistent as a passer and has put up some nice combine performances to remind me that he's a better athlete than his tape full of mostly pocket passing would suggest. Entering his second season as a starter, he's starting to turn his arm talent into consistent accuracy, leading to a bump of around seven spots.

One of my favorite quarterbacks in the Raleigh area, Jones might be the most accurate quarterback in the state. He doesn't always take the long ball, instead taking what the defense gives him. When I did my Wake County Deep Dive to look at the quarterbacks, I re-evaluated him, coming away both impressed and ready to bump him from 74th to 70th.

Norman was already one of our favorite prospects compared to his recruiting interests, but he put up ridiculous testing numbers at the Carolina Coaches' Combine, running a 4.55-second 40 and jumping nearly 44 inches. That athleticism is hard to ignore, especially when he's also accurate and calm in the pocket. That was enough to move him a few spots from 48 to 45.
