Recruiting Report (5/25)- Recent Offers and Committements

As we head further into the offseason, the recruiting world only keeps moving.   Today, we are highlighting some of the newest offers and commitments across the state- these prospects are killing it on the recruiting trail right now and won't be stopping anytime soon.   As always, check out their tape below- we have so much talent here in Alabama, you won't want to miss these prospects before they're off to the next level!    [player_tooltip player_id='1622460' first='Dontaye' last='Bush'] is a dominant DL prospect out of Williamson who has made a name for himself this offseason.   "Bush is highly athletic and plays with a ton of speed, power, and pursuit- he has a great first step/burst off the line of scrimmage, a ton of different pass rush moves he uses to beat OTs, and a motor he uses to make plays against the run and pass all game long.   Bush is a force off the edge- he constantly gets into the backfield to generate tons of pressure, force bad decisions, and rack up sacks. Bush is also great at stopping the run- he has great pursuit and closing speed, can fight off blockers, and is a reliable tackler that prevents big gains."   Bush was dominant up front for Williamson's defense last fall- ending his junior year with 72 total tackles (39 solo, 33 assisted, and 27 for loss), 13 sacks, 12 hurries, and 3 PBUs.   Last Friday, Bush announced on Twitter that he had committed to Troy! They're getting a dominant addition in their 2026 class, it'll be exciting watching Bush later this fall.      [player_tooltip player_id='882896' first='Ethan' last='Ridley'] is a lockdown DB who has been a big part of Hewitt-Trussville's secondary for the last few seasons.   "Ridley lines up at CB and is a constant threat for quarterbacks out in coverage- he's terrific in zone, can cover multiple levels of the field, and has the ball skills and hands to haul in interceptions and break up passes downfield.   Ridley is also a physical run defender who plays with a ton of speed and effort to make hustle plays down near the line of scrimmage. It's really impressive watching how well he fights off blocks and pursues after the ball carrier, he's a talented tackler who gets low and wraps up the ball carrier for little to no gain after making first contact."   Last week, Ridley announced he had picked up an offer from Presbyterian College! With his talent, I expect more will be sent his way soon- he's a talented DB with a big season ahead.   Check out some of Ridley's film below:      Darryl Blackmon is a dominant 2028 WR who seriously caught our attention earlier this offseason.   "At 6'2 200, Blackmon is a massive receiving threat who plays with a ton of speed and physicality out wide. Blackmon is a talented route runner who gains tons of separation downfield and does a great job using his hands and body control to secure some impressive receptions.   Blackmon is terrific at using his size to physically dominate DBs. He towers over them and has a great catch radius, strong hands, and great contact balance. I was left super impressed with Blackmon's freshman tape- he's a huge threat out wide who will only keep getting better over these next few years."   Blackmon was incredibly productive last fall, ending his freshman year with 45 receptions for 638 yards and 7 touchdowns.   Throughout the past month, Blackmon has seen his recruitment take off- picking up offers from Arkansas, Kennesaw State, Jacksonville State, and more.   Everyone needs to get to know Blackmon- he's already one of the top WRs in the state:      [player_tooltip player_id='1530344' first='JiQuan' last='Rogers'] is a dominant EDGE out of Ramsay who put together an impressive sophomore season last fall.   "Rogers is quick off of the edge and plays with a ton of speed and power- he flies by OTs on pass-rushing downs by speed-rushing and powering through the line of scrimmage to get to the quarterback.   Rogers is an every-down defender who can impact the run as well. He has excellent pursuit skills and quickness he uses to cover ground and wrap up the ball carrier for little to no gain, no matter where he initially lines up. It's incredibly impressive watching the motor Rogers plays with- he plays at a high speed and doesn't ease up at all, creating huge stops even after getting blocked multiple times."   Last week, Rogers announced he had picked up an offer from UT Martin! It'll be exciting watching him this fall, it's only a matter of time before more schools come calling.   Check out some of what Rogers' sophomore year:      [player_tooltip player_id='1624930' first='Christian' last='Harris'] is a disruptive EDGE/DL prospect out of Hoover who caught my eye earlier this offseason.   "At 6'2 235, Harris has great size and presents a lot of problems for opposing offensive lines as a pass rusher. Harris is quick off the snap, plays with a ton of speed and power, and can quickly make his way into the backfield to generate pressure and hurry the QB.   I'm really impressed with how Harris uses his leverage to beat offensive linemen. He gets low and generates a ton of power to dominate the OL across from him and get into the backfield. Harris also affects the passing game by breaking up passes at the line of scrimmage- he does a great job using his hands to bat down balls and is an overall threat on passing downs that has to be accounted for."   Last week, Harris announced he picked up his first offer from UT Martin. I really was impressed with what I saw on tape, it'll be exciting watching his recruitment continue to grow. "At 6'3 200, McCary has great size, contact balance, and breakaway speed in the open field that helps him consistently create explosive plays on the ground. With his size, McCary is a hard guy to tackle. He's great at lowering his shoulder and trucking through defenders and has contact balance he uses to always stay on his feet.   One of the things that makes McCary especially dangerous on the ground is his elusiveness- he can straight up run through your face, but can also make you miss with how quick he is on his feet. McCary has even made plays on defense, he's a really athletic guy with loads of potential wherever he lines up."   McCary put together a huge season for Maplesville last fall, recording 179 carries for 1092 yards and 13 TDs and 11 receptions for 80 yards and one TD through the air.   Last week, McCary announced he picked up an offer from Alabama State! With his talent, more will be heading his way soon- everyone needs to be on the lookout for him.   Check out some of McCary's freshman film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1626458' first='Cornealius' last='Hudson'] is a talented DB/ATH out of Woodlawn who seriously impressed me earlier this offseason.   "Hudson is highly athletic- at 6'1 160, he has prototypical size at CB and plays with a ton of speed and instincts out in coverage. Hudson is terrific at using his size and hands to his advantage, frequently wearing down WRs and breaking underneath passes to force PBUs and INTs.   It's really impressive seeing Hudson's versatility in coverage, he can line up and produce in press man, off the line of scrimmage, and in zone against a wide variety of WRs. Hudson is just as productive as a run defender, he consistently flies downhill to pursue and take down the ball carrier, regardless of where he lined up pre-snap."   Over the last few weeks, Hudson has seen his recruitment open up a ton, landing offers from Georgia Southern, UT Martin, Georgia State, and more!
