I loved what I saw from [player_tooltip player_id='1684961' first='Jake' last='DeWitt'] during the pre-competition drills.

All-around footwork, foot speed, throwing motion, accuracy, and throw velocity are way ahead of the curve when it comes to incoming sophomores. Heck, Jake looked a lot better than some senior QBs. I do wish I had watched him closer during the competition period, and I apologize for the very quick evaluation.

I liked what I saw, and I know Jake is playing for a great program. Lots of reason to beleive he'll continue developing.

Kicking strikes.

Benjamin legitimately could have a future as a college kicker. I can confidently say that Benjamin was the most accurate kicker of the two kicking showcases this week. He was hitting everything inside 40 yards- I seriously don't remember a miss from that range. When he missed from deep, it was always short, but still accurate.
Every single kicker had a couple of bad-looking miss-kicks, but not Benjamin. I'm not an expert in kicking mechanics by any means, but Benjamin has to be doing something right in that regard.

The biggest thing is kick power. If Benjamin can find a way to upgrade his power, he could be a phenomenal college kicker.

The more I watch Jack, the more confident I am in his trajectory. I feel that Jack was even overlooked because he's a class of 2027 prospect (vast majority of non-D1 colleges solely evaluated 2026s).

Athletically, Jack is way ahead of the curve. His background playing positions other than tackle helps. Also, he carries his weight very well. A lot of taller players don't have the muscle to move quickly.

Skill-wise, Jack has a bit to go but is still dang good. He gets good depth on his kickstep, has an accurate punch, uses his length effectively. Jack is especially good at blocking DEs attempting to win the outside.

Jack definitely needs to polish his game a bit more. Plus, D1s may want him to better fit weight preferences. As long as Jack shows continual improvement, I'd expect him to eventually earn a MAC offer.

Power 4 ceiling, GLIAC floor.

Gillings was as solid as ever! This is a good route runner with above-average length and catch radius for his size.

Just like last year, I thought Christian was a very efficient route-runner. Comebacks and deep balls alike, he was consistently earning separation and getting himself in a position to make a play. He also looked a bit taller and more filled out than last time, which is good. My one nitpick is hands- Christian has the occasional drop.

I expect Christian to get college looks next season. My opinion is that Christian has a GLIAC ceiling and a D3 floor.

An unknown prospect from a very small school.

I was highly impressed with DeMarius's athletic foundation. Great muscle for an incoming sophomore, quick release, and a very high-upside player. Though DeMarius was a bit raw when it came to route running and hands. Just from this quick workout, I loved what I saw, considering he's still a very young prospect. Moving forward, I'd love to see in-season tape and consistent improvement!
