2027 Rankings Preview, Linemen to Know

His footwork and hand placement stand out to me in his film as he can set the block and sustain it with his very good strength and leg drive. He excelled in Gap blocking, where he can enforce his will on defensive linemen. He has the athleticism to Zone block and get to the second level. Most of his tape is run blocking, but the little bit of pass protection we see makes the case that he can succeed at the P4 level with development. He has the size and frame you want for a D1 offensive lineman and the athleticism and strength to be a top prospect. He has very good balance with good bend and quick feet at the left tackle position for Western Branch. He can win with quickness and power in pass protection. Good grip strength and leg drive in Gap blocking and has the athleticism to Zone block and operate in space. He does a good job at engaging with his hands and refitting them to sustain blocks. He also plays defensive line and is very good in run defense and a force to be dealt with. He has a very good upfield burst, quickly accelerating with his first step to gain depth, and then uses his hands to engage and get past offensive linemen. He has the athleticism to track down QBs and RBs in the backfield with his lateral agility down the line of scrimmage. His strength lets him hold his gap versus the run. He has good closing speed to finish in pass rush after he rips past offensive linemen. He totaled 66 TKLs, 17 TFLs, 4 Sacks, 1 FF, and 3 FR. He has a good 6'4" frame with good athleticism, allowing him to be quick off the ball to engage offensive linemen quickly at the point of attack. You notice his relentless motor on the field, always in a ready position to read and react through the play. He has very good strength to hold his gap with good length to keep linemen out of his chest. Very good lateral movement in run defense down the line of scrimmage against the run. He can recover and reset when initially beaten and still provide pressure on the play. Also plays Left Tackle on offense where he had a good season. He has good discipline in his Pass Protection, keeping a half-man relationship and a good anchor. Has the strength to win in Gap blocks and the athleticism to get to the second level. Solid upfield burst at the snap with good strength at the point of attack. When he can create initial leverage, he will win the rep where he has an effective rip move to disengage the block. Good in run and pass defense, he has the strength to hold his gap and the quickness to put pressure on the QB. He recently had a <a href="https://x.com/Carterprice64/status/1919120969307664547" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">good showing</a> at our PRZ Combine.
