2027 QB Rankings Preview

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I have been previewing our Class of 2027 rankings the last couple months, and we will be posting the 2027 updates soon. An effective passer and athlete, Lonnie wins with his arm, and his legs are a bonus to his game that make him the best QB in Virginia's class of 2027 in my opinion. He can make all the throws with good arm strength and zip, with very good accuracy. Calm and poised in the pocket, he can easily maneuver the rush while remaining balanced and keeping his eyes downfield and complete an accurate throw. He has the athleticism to roll out of the pocket and throw on the run, and if needed, tuck the ball and run and gain positive yards with his legs. He had the opportunity to start as a freshman due to an injury to the starter. In 2024, Jahiem served as the backup to senior QB [player_tooltip player_id='1282090' first='Caleb' last='Brady'], who is now playing college football. This fall, expect Jahiem to be back in the starting role to prove why we initially ranked him as the third QB. I am excited to see him back on the field this fall with a great class of returning starters for Louisa County. Recently showed up to our summer combine series and had himself a great day. With very good height and a good frame, Ralphie boasts a strong, accurate arm with good athleticism. He has no issue taking on contact and is willing to run through defenders in designed runs up the middle. He made the most of his limited opportunity on Varsity in 2024 alongside junior QB [player_tooltip player_id='324007' first='Carson' last='Lambert']. Going back to his <strong><a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/19660397/654d45f40dc9ed05e818c2d4" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">freshman tape</a></strong>, you see his arm talent shine. With his transfer to Glen Allen this fall, expect him to be on the field showcasing his game. Shows the ability to roll out and throw on the run. He shows good patience to let routes develop and has the ability to maneuver the pocket to set himself up for the throw. Can throw the deep ball with solid zip on the pass. He has a big arm, making throws across the field. He is balanced in his pass set with good bend in the knees. Shows the ability to throw with different touches on his pass to add air when needed or to thread the needle between defenders. Good athleticism to maneuver the pocket and be used in designed runs where he gains yards quickly with his long strides. He has the arm strength to zip the ball in tight windows and does not shy away from these throws. Shows solid athleticism and provides a dual-threat at QB for James Wood in designed QB run calls.
