The Prep Redzone 7v7 Circuit made their second stop through Oklahoma this weekend in Broken Arrow and it was another strong weekend of 7v7 football. Five champions were crowned on Sunday and in a first for our Oklahoma tourneys, five different programs took home titles. In the 15U division, Sooner 7 made it all the way to the championship game before coming up short to SayLess. But they still had multiple guys stand out throughout the two days in Broken Arrow. Below, we take a look at six guys that stood out the most while we were watching. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone for more coverage from this weekend!

[player_tooltip player_id='589663' first='Brian' last='Jones Jr.'] - 2028 Running Back - Bixby

Bixby 2028 running back [player_tooltip player_id='589663' first='Brian' last='Jones Jr.'] had another productive weekend playing for Sooner 7 and that's nothing new for him. It seems like everytime we cover this Sooner 7 team, Jones is one of the players that stands out. It feels like we've watched him catch roughly 30 (probably an exaggeration but not by much) passes in the back of the end zone this offseason. He finds a way to make plays in a variety of ways. He was also playing cornerback this weekend. When the pads come on next month, he has a solid chance to take the next step at the running back position and become one of Bixby's top playmakers on offense. Jones had a really good freshman season but he has to be hungry for more in 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='1549140' first='Brice' last='Owens'] - 2027 Quarterback - (Arkansas)

Sooner 7 has done a good job of pulling kids over from northwest Arkansas over the last several years and this year was no exception. 2027 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1549140' first='Brice' last='Owens'] came over from Arkansas and for the second straight tournament, he really stood out to us as one of the best quarterbacks in the 15U division. Owens stood out to us a month ago at our first Oklahoma tournament with his accuracy and his ability to methodically move the ball down the field. This weekend, that accuracy continued to show up and as we've mentioned a few times this week, the wind was brutal and it wasn't the easiest job being a quarterback this weekend. Owens made the most of his reps and had another strong showing.

[player_tooltip player_id='1642495' first='Caleb' last='Peterson'] - 2028 Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - Lincoln Christian

Lincoln Christian 2028 speedster [player_tooltip player_id='1642495' first='Caleb' last='Peterson'] had a really good showing in the championship game on Sunday. Sooner 7 came up short but we loved what we saw from Peterson on the defensive side of the ball. We've watched Peterson in person for two years now at various 7v7 tournaments and the thing that always stands out about him is the overall speed. But this weekend in particular, he used that speed to always be in the right place at the right time and he was an absolute fiend in pass coverage. We even noticed it again going back and watching some video. There were times when a wide receiver looked wide open, the quarterback threw it and Peterson would poke the ball away at the last second. He played really well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1166475' first='Chandler' last='Johnson'] - 2028 Tight End - Stillwater

Stillwater 2028 tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1166475' first='Chandler' last='Johnson'] is another prospect in this 2028 class that seems to have a high ceiling and we've seen him perform very well in the offseason. We're just waiting for that breakout moment when the pads come on in the fall. Last season, Johnson was nursing an injury. But this weekend in particular, Johnson had a good performance on the offensive side of the ball. And the thing that stood out the most to us was his resiliency and how he battled through adversity. Most pass catchers aren't going to have a perfect weekend at these tournaments. But Johnson never let one drop turn into two and the ripple effect into a bad weekend. He always kept working and he had a solid day on Sunday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1164507' first='CJ' last='Wright'] - 2028 Running Back/Defensive Back - Lincoln Christian

Similar to a few other players on this breakdown, it seems like every time we see this Sooner 7 team, Lincoln Christian 2028 standout [player_tooltip player_id='1164507' first='CJ' last='Wright'] is one of the top performers. That was the case again this weekend and specifically in the championship game. Like Peterson, Wright might have saved his best performance this weekend for the last game of the tournament. First off, Wright used his speed to get behind a talented SayLess secondary for an easy touchdown on a go ball. Wright would then use that speed on defense when he was in the right place at the right time to spring on a tipped ball in the end zone for an interception. We first saw Wright a little over a year ago and he continues to impress.

[player_tooltip player_id='1176238' first='Israel' last='Hammons'] - 2027 Athlete - Choctaw

We've written about Choctaw 2027 standout [player_tooltip player_id='1176238' first='Israel' last='Hammons'] a handful of times this offseason but in case you missed it, the main message is to buy stock now. Hammons is a '27 prospect to keep an eye on and the main thing we love about him as a prospect is his versatility. He's a swiss army knife on the football field and he was able to play that role again this weekend. On offense, Hammons was catching passes and on defense he was patrolling the middle of the field. When the pads come on, don't be surprised to see Hammons play multiple positions on the defensive side of the ball. He continues to impress and for us, his stock only continues to go up. We're looking forward to seeing Hammons next month when the pads are on.
