We're well into the offseason, and we're keeping things going ahead of spring workouts and summer practices. In a new series that will run concurrently with some of our other cornerstone content, like my community film room series or Matt Morrow's county-by-county Deep Dives, we're looking at what some of our 2028 players (both ranked and unranked) did as freshmen. I already looked at some receivers in the western part of the state. Here, I'm looking at five others, mostly from the Charlotte and Raleigh areas, to know.

A guy who could challenge for the top overall prospect ranking in the 2028 class, Clark makes everything at the receiver position look easy. He came in with lofty expectations and delivered as a freshman. A smooth route-runner, Clark has excellent athleticism, giving him abilities before, during, and after the catch.

Ramseur actually bested Clark in terms of numbers this season, leading the state with a class-best 56 catches and 829 yards. What Ramseur lacks in pure size, he has in elite shiftiness and top-end speed. He's an all-around athlete, contributing on offense, defense, and special teams, but it's his elite body control that gives him such upside at receiver.

Playing for a traditionally run-heavy team, Sadler actually broke Green Level's varsity single-season receiving yardage record last season, tallying 458 yards. While many of his catches were on shorter, designed plays, he excelled after the catch. He was the focal point of the offense, also racking up 75 carries on the year. His shiftiness and speed are elite, and we wouldn't be surprised to see him running in the 4.4s by the time his senior year arrives.

We've written about Davis-Hilton in a Community Film Room episode and we've made him a receiver in our database despite him not playing that position often as a freshman. There's no doubt, though. The soft hands, impressive long speed and flashes of route running make him an excellent receiver prospect.

Dulin caught our eye when we were scouting fellow freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1616211' first='Draeton' last='Nance'] at the quarterback position. Dulin only played four games on varsity, but went off against North Davidson, with a 5-catch, 147-yard outburst. Dulin has great size and speed. Now that he's a likely full-time starter at receiver, he should have a huge sophomore season.
