There is always the conversations out there regarding true speed amongst our scouts and the college coaches too. The best way to verify that true speed? You have to take it to the track in my opinion to get the best verification of who truly runs the speed they advertise on social media or Hudl. These five young men are surely as-advertised in that speed department, and all run inside 11 seconds in the 100 meter dash on the track naming all of them to my South Dakota All-Speed Team for the 100 meter dash with track season upon us in the Dakotas.

The Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine RB MVP has the best breakaway speed you will see on tape at the running back position in the Dakotas as Josaih wastes no time showing that on tape going from 0 to 100. He also has excellent pure instincts with his vision, as it takes Josiah hardly any time to find what he is looking for starting off with his great agile movement (low 4s in the shuttle) to set the tone to get downhill. I have to say, I am shocked he doesn't have his first offer yet to be honest with that verified speed and excellent tape.

Jase is another Sioux Falls Area running back that can be deadly once he finds the open field with his vision as one that is also versatile with the great vision he has in the return game as well. His pull-away speed really catches waves into the second level as you can see the fluidity that Jase runs with those verified track numbers he has put up. Man, I would hate to be a linebacker trying to catch this one-two punch at Harrisburg in 2025 with Josiah and Jase in the backfield.

A 2027 newcomer to my radar that ran a 11.12 100-meter dash at the SD State Track Meet in 2024 is 6'3 220 pound EDGE Anthony Patron out of Sioux Falls Jefferson. He shows off a great athletic bend which sticks out like a sore thumb on tape. Anthony is absurdly sudden getting off his blocks and using that quick burst and fluidily to cause havoc with the ball carrier. I also was intrigued with the upside Anthony has with his pad-level with getting off blocks on the light reps I could find recently on tape. If you want verified track speed and a prospect with great upside Anthony is surely worth a look in the 2027 class.

Mikey has one of the most eye-catching releases off the start of his routes out of any 2026 prospect in the Dakotas in my eyes. He also plays with outstanding finish on every route I have watched on tape, which shows off why he is also a stud running the 400-meter as well, as a slot receiver that just picked up his first offer this Spring from Augustana and I am sure more offers incoming his way. He has himself a bigger catch radius too than you would expect for his size and man, does the football IQ show off for Mikey on just about every route as a 2026 stockriser already in this class.

Dveyoun has been our consesus WR1 in the Dakotas and has shown off his football talents since we identified him as an 8th grader and runs an outstanding 10.90 100 meter dash at 6'2 190 pounds. Dveyoun has in my eyes some of the best hands I have seen in the Dakotas since we started our PRZ site back in 2020 and is a monster making contested catches look way too easy and you can ask any scout that has seen him at P4 camps for that verification as well. His route versatility is what sets him apart from other wide receivers in the class, as he can burn you on all three levels of the field with his twitch and route running. He missed his junior year due to injury, but man am I stoked to watch Dveyoun back for his senior season as the Nebraska commit should ball out as a senior for the Warriors offense.
