Recruiting Report 3/17- Recent Offers and Visits Across the State

As we head further into the offseason, the recruiting world only keeps moving.   Today we are highlighting some of the newest offers and visits across the state- these prospects are killing it on the recruiting trail right now and won't be stopping anytime soon.   As always, check out their tape below- we have so much talent here in Alabama, and you won't want to miss these prospects before they're off to the next level!    [player_tooltip player_id='1222932' first='Carnell' last='Jackson'] is a dominant DT/NG out of Auburn who has played extremely well over the last two seasons.   Standing at 6'3 320, Jackson uses his size, strength, and power to consistently dominate the line of scrimmage and make plays against the run and pass. He explodes off the snap, clogs up running lanes, and is a reliable tackler who doesn't allow the ball carrier into the open field. Jackson also moves really well at his size- he is impressive in pursuit, has a great motor, and consistently finds ways into the backfield nearly every snap.   Jackson has blown up in the recruiting world this offseason, picking up offers from big-time programs all across the country. A few days ago, Jackson announced a big development in his recruitment- he picked up his first SEC offer from Arkansas!   Jackson is extremely deserving and you can see why below- he's a dominant DL prospect with a huge future ahead of him, just watch!      [player_tooltip player_id='1610217' first='Braden' last='Gordon'] is a dominant ATH out of Montgomery Academy who debuted in our 2027 Rankings as the 5th player in the state earlier this year with how dominant he was on both sides of the ball last season.   At 6'4 200, Gordon is excellent at using his size and speed to his advantage on both sides of the ball. As a WR/RB, he consistently outmatches opposing DBs in the secondary, easily gets open, and can create a ton after the catch and out of the backfield with how fast he is in the open field.   Defensively, Gordon completely overwhelms OL off the edge to create huge stops in the backfield. He uses his speed to his advantage and pursues after the ball carrier/quarterback to make impressive hustle plays nearly every snap.   Gordon dominated both sides of the ball for Montgomery Academy- ending his sophomore season with 41 carries for 288 yards and 6 touchdowns on the ground, 46 receptions for 749 yards and 8 touchdowns through the air, and 50 total tackles (37 solo, 14 for loss), 11 sacks, and one forced fumble.   Gordon has seen his recruitment really take off this offseason, picking up offers from top-tier programs all across the nation. In the last 24 hours, both Notre Dame and Missouri have sent offers his way, further cementing him as one of the most highly recruited 2027s in the state.      [player_tooltip player_id='1536089' first='Joshua' last='Douthard'] is a talented ATH out of Saint Clair County who has made tons of plays on both sides of the ball, and is coming off a breakout year that has helped him pick up a ton of traction in the recruiting world.   On offense, Douthard is a dominant WR/RB who can come up with explosive plays wherever he lines up. At WR, Douthard plays with a ton of speed, runs impressive routes, and consistently takes the top off of defenses for huge plays in the passing game. Douthard uses the same game-breaking speed out of the backfield, he has great vision and breakaway speed he uses to rev up and make huge plays in the open field.   Defensively, Douthard is a dominant DB with great ball skills who can make ton of plays on the ball out in coverage. I'm really impressed with his instincts and timing out in the secondary- he flies around the field and puts himself in great position to come up with stops against the run and pass.   Douthard has quickly become a top recruit in his class- South Carolina, Maryland, Louisana Tech, Memphis, and many other programs have reached out with offers recently.   Be sure to watch out for Douthard in our next 2027 Rankings Update- he's coming off a massive sophomore season and is set to rise a ton!      [player_tooltip player_id='1530519' first='Ronald' last='Wilder'] is an impressive RB/LB out of Greene County who has seen his recruitment take off over the last few months.   Although producing on both sides of the ball, Wilder has been seriously impressive at RB. Wilder is one of the more physical players I've watched recently- he runs hard, has unbelievable contact balance, and excels at trucking/stiff-arming defenders into the dirt- putting together a ton of highlight-worthy plays all last year.   Although Wilder is more of a power back, he still has some incredible speed he uses to outrun entire defenses in the open field, making the most out of every carry and putting together some unreal plays on tape.   Wilder had a terrific junior season-ending the year with 145 carries for 1885 yards and 15 touchdowns on offense, with 51 total tackles (32 solo), 2 sacks, and one interception on defense.   Wilder has exploded in the recruiting world this offseason. In the past week, he's picked up offers from West Alabama and Appalachian State and scheduled a visit to Georgia State later this month.      [player_tooltip player_id='1507896' first='Jay'lin' last='Taylor'] is a dominant wide receiver out of Oxford who first caught our eyes early last fall and is now coming off a breakout season where he played as one of the state's top WRs in the 2026 class.   Taylor was dominant last fall- he made tons of explosive plays against a bunch of really talented secondaries this year and consistently put up huge performances every week.   Taylor plays with a ton of speed and quickness out wide- he is a talented route runner who gains tons of separation at every level of the field. On top of that, Taylor has incredibly reliable hands- consistently making huge catches along the sideline, downfield, and through coverage and contact.   Taylor was fantastic last fall, he ended his junior year with 89 receptions for 1436 yards and 14 touchdowns- and since the end of last season, he's found plenty of success out on the recruiting trail.   After scheduling a visit to Liberty earlier this month, Taylor has picked up offers from Charlotte and Samford in the past week.      [player_tooltip player_id='1537323' first='Donivan' last='Moore']<a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/donivan-moore/"></a> has quickly become one of our top prospects in our 2027 Rankings, he's been outstanding for Hueytown's defensive line and is set up for a huge junior season this fall.   At 6'4 280, Moore is explosive in every sense of the word- he has a terrific burst off the line of scrimmage, is quick and powerful, and constantly finds ways to get into the backfield and come up with huge stops.   Moore completely overwhelms OL in the trenches- he has a ton of different moves he uses to win at the line of scrimmage, consistently clogging rushing lanes to stop the run, and generating tons of pressure on passing downs. Moore is also really impressive in pursuit- he moves incredibly well at his size and consistently hunts down the ball carrier to come up with hustle plays.   Moore has picked up a ton of attention from schools all over the nation this offseason, and just today, he announced Notre Dame had sent an offer his way!      [player_tooltip player_id='283568' first='Elijah' last='Peake']<a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/elijah-peake/"></a> is a dominant force on Wetumpka's defensive line who has made a ton of huge plays at DT over the last few seasons.   At 6'2 295, Peake plays with a ton of speed and agility at his size, flying around the field to come up with huge stops against the run and pass. Peake is a problem against the run- he gets great penetration on the line of scrimmage, can fight off blockers, and is an excellent tackler who doesn't allow for any extra yards after making first contact.   Peake is also productive against the pass- he provides terrific interior pressure and can collapse the pocket almost entirely on his own. What impressed me most about Peake's film was his motor and the effort he plays with, he doesn't quit on plays and works as hard as possible to come up with stops, no matter where he initially lined up pre-snap.   Peake had a monster year for Wetumpka last season, ending the year with 101 total tackles (57 solo, 44 assisted, 18 for loss), 9 sacks, and one FR.    Peake has picked up a lot of attention from the next level this offseason, and after setting up a visit to Troy earlier this month, Peake picked up an offer from the University of Louisiana this past week!      [player_tooltip player_id='1506566' first='Xavier' last='Edwards']<a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/xavier-edwards/"></a> was incredibly productive last season for Athens' ground game- making tons of huge plays against some talented run defenses all season long.   Edwards is explosive out of the backfield and has terrific speed and acceleration he uses to go from 0-100 and quickly turn upfield to make big plays. Edwards is twitchy and can easily make defenders miss, he does a terrific job in the open field and consistently finds ways to leave defenders in the dust.   Edwards also has a reliable set of hands in the passing game and can use the same speed and twitch to make impressive plays after the catch.   Edwards had a huge season last fall for Athens-ending his junior year with 117 carries for 977 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground, and an additional 12 receptions for 189 yards as a receiver.    A few days back, Edwards announced that he has a visit set with Samford later this week. I'm excited to see how it goes for him! He's a talented prospect with a big senior year ahead of him, just watch.      [player_tooltip player_id='1625598' first='Monroe' last='Partin']<a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/monroe-partin/"></a> is a dominant EDGE/ILB prospect out of Bayside Academy who racked up tons of tackles against every team his team faced last fall.   Partin is a dominant run defender- he's excellent at reading and reacting to plays, fights off blocks with ease, and closes up rushing lanes at the line of scrimmage to come up with huge stops. Partin is a talented tackler as well, he's great in pursuit and has the tackling skills to wrap up and take down the ball carrier for little to no gain after making first contact.   Bayside is equally as productive on passing downs- he's excellent at blitzing off-ball, using several different kinds of moves to work his way around OL to pressure/take down the quarterback. Partin is seriously impressive at shedding blocks and has excellent closing speed that allows him to fly to the ball and come up with stops nearly every snap, and you can easily see it in his numbers from last fall.   Partin put up some absolutely ridiculous numbers for Bayside last season- ending his dominant junior season with 208 total tackles (114 solo, 6 for loss), 2 sacks, 3 hurries, and one interception.   Partin picked up an offer from Troy a few days back and announced he's scheduled visits to Alabama, Tulane, USF, Kentucky, South Alabama, and Mississippi State. It's going to be exciting watching Partin's recruitment continue to develop- he's a rising star in the state that deserves more eyes!      [player_tooltip player_id='1640723' first='Calderious' last='Williams'] is a talented two-way player out of Greenville who has produced a ton at LB/RB over the past few seasons.   Williams is a quick LB who can make sideline-to-sideline plays against the run and pass- he's great in pursuit, can cover tons of ground, and has great instincts he uses to make impact plays on defense every down.   Williams is just as good on offense out of the backfield- he has great speed and acceleration, runs really hard, and has terrific contact balance that allows him to take on multiple defenders and maximize yardage on every carry.   Williams just picked up an offer from Samford yesterday, and with his talent on both sides of the ball, expect more to head his way soon. He's a seriously talented prospect who's putting together a really successful offseason and has a huge senior season ahead.
