Our latest ranking update for the state's 2027 class came out on Tuesday. The latest ranking update now features the top 100 players in the state's 2027 class. Every time we do a ranking update, we dive into prospect breakdowns following each release. In this breakdown, we're putting the spotlight on five prospects who made significant jumps in the latest ranking update. All five of these prospects made massive leaps up the rankings, including two players who are now featured in the top ten. Now, anytime we publish a “stock riser” article, we're almost telling on ourselves for not having these guys higher in the first place. But nonetheless, these five guys certainly have our attention moving forward. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more 2027 breakdowns and our final ranking update, featuring the state's 2028 class.

Fort Gibson offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1530067' first='Cooper' last='Hackett'] made the most significant leap in this ranking update, going from a borderline Top 30 prospect to into the Top 5 at #4 overall. Hackett's ceiling moving forward continues to get higher. We first heard about Hackett around this time last year but we heard about him as a really good basketball player that's in a football player's body. Hackett checks just about every box when it comes to being an elite offensive lineman. His size is off the charts, athleticism is off the charts and he's just scratching the surface right now on what he could be. And Hackett's recruitment has absolutely taken off in the last few months and shows no signs of slowing down. The Fort Gibson standout has a very strong argument for being the top prospect at his position and he's getting a stronger argument for potentially being the top overall guy in the class.

There are few players in the state, regardless of class that have blown up in the last two months the way we've seen from [player_tooltip player_id='1035103' first='Titus' last='Hawk'] out of Choctaw. Specifically, it feels like every day that Hawk is picking up another P4 offer and we're talking about some offers from the blue bloods in college football. Hawk has always intrigued us from a size standpoint but we also know he's solid on the baseball diamond. Early on in his career he was thought of as a quarterback but it is clear that he has a future as a tight end. And the last time we saw this Choctaw standout on the gridiron, he was having a really strong performance in the state championship game. He caught what ended up being the game-winning touchdown to help the Yellowjackets capture their first state title in decades. Hawk has absolutely exploded as a prospect and that's a big reason why he's jumped into the top ten.

Choctaw standout [player_tooltip player_id='1176238' first='Israel' last='Hammons'] is the second Yellowjacket on this breakdown. Hammons jumped up from outside the Top 25 to knocking on the door of the Top 10. We started buying stock in Hammons during the spring of last year and that was before he absolutely exploded physically. Around this time last year, Hammons was known as more of a wide receiver and defensive back. He would end up playing on all three levels of the Choctaw defense. He lined up as an edge rusher, linebacker and in the secondary. Not to mention he was their leading tackler on special teams. And for all of those reasons, we have Hammons listed as an "athlete" on this update because he can play a variety of positions and do it all at a very high level. Hammons has quickly turned into a name to know within the state's 2027 class. We think this could be a very busy spring and summer for him.

Union cornerback [player_tooltip player_id='485526' first='Noah' last='Gillespie'] went from outside the Top 50 to now being ranked #20 overall and he shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Gillespie is still a prospect that we want to learn more about and this offseason could be very big for just that. Gillespie is starting to establish himself as one of the top defensive backs in this class and the Tulsa area is quickly becoming a "no fly zone" with the amount of standout defensive backs that reside in Tulsa county. And Union has not been quiet when it comes to producing not only high level defensive backs but specifically cornerbacks that can absolutely lock down an opposing wide receiver. We mentioned that Gillespie is starting to establish himself and with that comes the start of his recruitment. He's started to pick up a few offers and like we said earlier, it's going to be a very busy offseason for him moving forward.

Cascia Hall standout [player_tooltip player_id='1067472' first='Fisher' last='Lai'] has been a 2027 prospect that we've liked since his freshman season. But this is the first time that Lai is being rated as an overall athlete because of his abilities on both sides of the ball. Lai has been one of the top targets in the Cascia Hall passing game over the last two seasons. But Lai is also a really strong cornerback and we've watched him in countless 7v7 tournaments where he is making play after play. And Lai those plays carry a little more weight because Lai isn't a defensive back that has his hands all over the wide receiver, getting away with holding or pass interference and then makes a play on the ball. Lai does it within the rules and does it at a consistent level. The Cascia Hall standout has moved up over 20 spots and is knocking on the door of being a Top 20 overall prospect. He has a very high ceiling on both sides of the ball.
