Any of these RBs could perform extremely well this offseason then go off this Fall. All of these RBs earned a significant amount of varsity playing time in 2024, and they're truly one great offseason away from an elite 2025. Here are my updated impressions of five lesser-known RBs! Hope to see them all at some point this offseason.

Tyler's tape is a fun watch. A handful of great explosive runs made from wide-open holes from his offensive line. Plus, a few plays like 1:00 and 1:11 show solid agility and a willingness to be a little physical. Tyler consistently does a great job of bursting through his hole and breaking arm tackles. He's a great high school "elusive" running back.

Though, for college, I fear he's too small. At 5'10" 170, Tyler could be a D3 back, but the vast majority of D2 RBs need significantly more muscle than what Tyler has right now.

Patrick has similar tape to Tyler, who I talked about above.

This is an elusive RB who is fast enough to outrun most defenders. Plus, he stands out with a few receiving and special teams plays. What I like most about Patrick is his ability to explode through tight traffic. He does a great job at seeing lanes, hitting them, and not slowing down unless he's hit. Like Tyler, I'd like to see Patrick either add some muscle or level-up athletically. Lastly, and absolutely most importantly, Patrick needs to work on his griddy. The Griddy he shows on tape is not it.

Marshaun had tape throughout the season that intrigued me. Like the two prospects mentioned above, Marshaun is a smaller "elusive" running back who excels at getting to top speed quickly and sprinting through the designed hole. Plus, there's plays like 0:31 where Marshaun does his best to bounce off contact.

All in all, Marshaun needs to stand out a bit more in order to earn college offers. Still, he's a good high school player. Keep working and having fun with it, and Marshaun will take a big step up in production next season.

Jackson was an incredibly productive player for Armada this season. I'm especially impressed with his consistently good vision and patience in the open field. Even though he isn't an elite athlete, Jackson is still able to manipulate defenders, run through arm tackles, and find ways to turn an ordinary play into an explosive play. Moments of good contact balance sprinkled in there, too.

Finally, I feel Jackson is an NAIA or D3 prospect. It's incredibly difficult to be recruited as a running back, and I frankly don't think Jackson is athletic enough or strong enough to be D2. I hope I'm wrong- and I could be wrong, but that's where I'm at right now. I hope Jackson is able to perform well at camps this spring!

I had the opportunity to watch Brody once during the 2024 season. His tape shows the exact things I saw during my in-person watch.

Brody is a good power RB. He's not afraid to be physical, and he oftentimes meets someone at the line of scrimmage but has the power to keep his feet moving and fall forward. That's his biggest strength- most RBs seem afraid to hit, and Brody is not most RBs. Though, Brody needs to upgrade his speed and explosiveness if he's to earn offers this Spring. Finally, he does have a ball security issue. Needs to clean that up in order to help Jenison pull off more upsets this Fall.
