This piece features the top seven offensive tackles in the rankings, you can check out the top Interior Offensive Lineman HERE

For several positions, I can support the idea that size and measurables are less important than on-field production and athleticism; however, offensive line and offensive tackle are positions where I believe the exact opposite.

Size matters here, more importantly length is the name of the game - these guys have all sorts of body types but there is a pretty decent correlation to the longer guys being closer to the top of my rankings. What is interesting about this group is there are guys who I think will be very good FCS starters, ranked lower than prospects with extremely high ceilings that they may never reach. This is a lot of projection and potential because some prospects have traits that cannot be coached. Fundamentals can be coaches, athleticism can be developed, and weight can be changed - height and length are two things you cannot change, making them important for OL coaches nationwide. Also, I am not making this up, multiple of the northeasts top offensive line coaches have told me this so this is also slightly a reflection of what many offensive line coaches believe, not just myself.

No offensive tackle prospect in New York offers the upside at the next level like Iyalekhue does. His measurables truly separate him from the field, but it is not just the numbers next to HT and WT that do it—his body type and frame are excellent for the tackle position. He has a big square upper body, great length and reach, with a slim lower body. Although already at the 330WT, has room to get bigger and stronger.

On the field, he is still a raw prospect, but he put some really good things on tape for Yonkers Force this season. For a guy who consistently has to block guys smaller than him, he plays with great leverage - there are reps where he is able to win with leverage and not just rely on his size. His movement skills are in an excellent place for a player his size, you're not going to ask a 6'9 330 lb OL to do a lot, but as a pulling OT he shows some athleticism and he can get to the second level with some quickness.

It is an interesting evaluation because his best football will be played at the college level. It almost hurts him that he has to block guys who are so much smaller than him, whereas in college, his size can absolutely be an asset at the tackle position.

Another huge prospect at the OL position [player_tooltip player_id='735899' first='Khalil' last='Cox'] could easily end up at guard - the position he ends up at will likely come down to how he develops his body/frame. His tape is pretty much all at guard, I think if he slims down enough there will be some coaches who would try him at tackle because of his 7'3 wingspan.

Cox is an interesting evaluation because he is not an every-down offensive lineman for CBA-Syracuse. Granted, their riches at the position would be part of the reason for that. Cox put some excellent reps on tape. He does need to cut weight, but he moves really well for a guy at 360 in his Junior year. There is athleticism there that you see flashes of, that a college weight and nutrition program can unlock.

There is no doubt he has the size and the power—the next step is getting to a point where he can be an every-down impact offensive lineman, and many coaches, myself included, will become more confident in his evaluation.

Martines is a long and lean OT prospect. He also fits the mold of an athletic edge rusher, but I like him at OT because of the pass-pro reps he puts on tape. I think you can see the basketball background on his tape—he has great foot speed and does an incredible job of staying square to guys. He can be an effective blocker in space or at the second level against smaller, quicker defenders.

Martines plays with excellent pad level, you see it in his pass pro, but also when he is executing reach blocks. He does a great job of keeping his hands inside on the chest plate and overall is one of the more fundamentally sound blockers in the class - he does need to get bigger, but with that, add some strength to his punch for the next level. If you are looking for a Tackle to play in a zone scheme at the next level, I really like the athleticism Martines offers and considering that parameter would likely be the top tackle I would look into.

Olson has not only some quality football tape out there but also a strong wrestling background, something that multiple OL coaches I know look for in some OL prospects. I also think this trait adds value to a prospect.

Olson shows good power and the ability to move guys on tape. He is a great athlete at his size and shows explosive movements in space. Pass Pro is a little bit of a question mark because you don't see a lot of it in the Garden City offense, but he has the strength and movement skills to at least end up a good pass pro guy with more reps.

Power, athleticism, size—there is not much more you can ask for. Fundamentally, he is developing, but so is every high school offensive lineman, so there is a lot to work with here.

Crisera continues the theme of some of the top offensive tackles in New York, really from Long Island, who have a long, lean build but show good athleticism and some power on tape.

Crisera plays with a great motor. It's hard to find an OL in New York for whom you can legitimately see the toughness and work rate on tape. You even see it on his defensive reps.

Of the tackle group, he is the most violent finisher on tape. Put him in any 1v1 situation with a LB or DE, and on tape, there is pretty much one outcome: a strong inside punch and finish to the ground.

The biggest thing for Crisera is he needs to get bigger, at 250 he will need to add at least 30lbs to be a Tackle at the next level, but he has the frame to add that weight over time.

[player_tooltip player_id='1513709' first='Eric' last='Jones'] brings us back to the big-body OT prospects who have a wide, square upper body and flash the athletic tools to be really talented tackle prospects at the next level.

Jones falls into the boat of some other prospects here. He needs to show some more consistency on tape. He does not have a ton of pass-pro reps, but he does show some good athleticism, and you see him sustain blocks well on tape.

Jones has a baseball background and is one of those unique prospects who looks a lot better in person than on tape—although the tape still shows some good qualities.

Farhat has a lot of film out. I have seen him at camp, and the former Monsignor Farrell & New Dorp OT had a strong first season with Cardinal Hayes. Farhat is a long, lean tackle prospect who has a lot of playing time under his belt with film since Freshman year.

Farhat plays with a great motor. He is physical and consistently finishes his blocks with violence. He shows good movement skills, and it starts with his foot speed. There is a lot to like with his movements and motor. Getting that pad level in a better spot and playing with better leverage will be big for his senior year. He has the measurables and should be a guy that coaches will really take a look at in a camp setting.
