Olson is a two sport athlete, who can play football and also wrestles. The Garden City prospect finished his career with another undefeated season, and is heading to Harvard in the fall.
On the football field, Olson can play on both sides with tape as a Guard and Defensive Tackle. Guard is his main position, where he uses his physicality gained from wrestling to move players at will. I like his speed for a lineman, and he can be a valuable lead, or pull guard. Harvard is getting an outstanding lineman in Olson.
Congratulations Zach!

Standing at 6’5″, 280 pounds, Olson displays a solid build for the lineman position. The Garden City star is a two sport athlete and also wrestles.
On the football field, Olson can play on both sides with tape as a Guard and Defensive Tackle. Guard is his main position, where he uses his physicality gained from wrestling to move players at will. Garden City rarely passes, but his athleticism along with strength show the ability to guard in passing situations.
He is an excellent athlete with growing traits and a physical background which should be extremely fun to work with at the next level.

Olson has not only some quality football tape out there but also a strong wrestling background, something that multiple OL coaches I know look for in some OL prospects. I also think this trait adds value to a prospect.
Olson shows good power and the ability to move guys on tape. He is a great athlete at his size and shows explosive movements in space. Pass Pro is a little bit of a question mark because you don’t see a lot of it in the Garden City offense, but he has the strength and movement skills to at least end up a good pass pro guy with more reps.
Power, athleticism, size—there is not much more you can ask for. Fundamentally, he is developing, but so is every high school offensive lineman, so there is a lot to work with here.

Olson is a prospect I probably will pound the table for come spring/summer when recruiting gets pretty hectic, and there are a lot of intriguing accolades, tape, and off-field boxes he checks.
Measurables – Olson fits what teams look for at 6’5 280
Accolades – 3x Champion, Has never lost an HS game, Al Martone Award Winner (Best Nassau County Lineman)
Off-Field – 28-7 Wrestling record, 97/100 Average (3.9 GPA)
Tape – For a player with the long, lean build Olson has played guard at the HS level, surprising, but I really like him at guard on tape where Garden City asks him to pull and move quite a bit – the movement skills are there, and you see a little of the wrestling background with his pad level and ability to strike – his DT tackle is alright, it displays more athleticism but his skillset projects to OL at the next level.

Olson has a body type similar to Martines, and the long, lean, athletic tackle prospects are in right now. The Garden City OT is also a solid wrestler, contributing to his exceptional ability to bend. Olson is a raw prospect when it comes to his hand use and footwork, but he is strong, athletic, and long, and he has three really strong traits to build from.
