Lawrence Iyalekhue

Expert Analysis

Iyalekhue, signed with Boston College on ESD last week, and the monster lineman will be taking his talents to the ACC. Standing at 6’9″ 330-Pounds he is a giant on the football field and an impact playmaker.
There is no denying how impressive his frame is. He is a man amongst boys on the football field and towers over opposing defensive lineman. He has outstanding footwork, and god hand placement in reps. I like his strength in the run game which creates massive holes on the line. Boston College is getting a future NFL star in Iyalekhue.
Congratulations Lawrence!

Standing at 330-Pounds, he still has room to grow making him an even more impressive prospect. He is a raw athlete who can become stronger. His ceiling has no limits and seeing him on the field would result in an instant forfeit from any team I coach

No offensive tackle prospect in New York offers the upside at the next level like Iyalekhue does. His measurables truly separate him from the field, but it is not just the numbers next to HT and WT that do it—his body type and frame are excellent for the tackle position. He has a big square upper body, great length and reach, with a slim lower body. Although already at the 330WT, has room to get bigger and stronger.
On the field, he is still a raw prospect, but he put some really good things on tape for Yonkers Force this season. For a guy who consistently has to block guys smaller than him, he plays with great leverage – there are reps where he is able to win with leverage and not just rely on his size. His movement skills are in an excellent place for a player his size, you’re not going to ask a 6’9 330 lb OL to do a lot, but as a pulling OT he shows some athleticism and he can get to the second level with some quickness.
It is an interesting evaluation because his best football will be played at the college level. It almost hurts him that he has to block guys who are so much smaller than him, whereas in college, his size can absolutely be an asset at the tackle position.

Iyalekhue did not necessarily make the top 10 and be the #1 offensive line prospect for what he is now but more for what he can be in the future.
6’9 330, basketball background – he checks the measurables box not just for the college level but beyond that. Movement skills are at an excellent spot for a Junior in HS. As his body and fundamentals continue to develop, he has a Marcus Harrison type ceiling as a recruit.

Iyalekhue was a player I wrote about preseason as this was his first fall playing HS football. Still, he already separates himself as a tackle prospect with his size and basketball background – he put out some film from this year and picked up an offer from Boston College – Size is the great separator of OL prospects but Iyalekhue’s athleticism is a standout trait in his film.

Iyalekhue is a super raw prospect and is coming of a year where he did not play football, and while Yonkers Force does have a couple of ranked prospects Iyalekhue easily has the highest ceiling of anyone on the team. A basketball player who wears a size 20 shoe and stands 6’9 325lbs has division 1 traits that you cannot teach. With elite size and length, he has a special size to his game, and it comes with solid athleticism and quick feet. He needs to learn a lot and develop the fundamentals of the game, but he is going to stand out on the field and has a chance to end up a really solid player.

6’8 280 – Basketball player turned offensive tackle. Iyalekhue does have a lot to learn when it comes to just the fundamentals of the game, he did not play last season after being with Iona Prep briefly as a freshman. He has the ideal frame, elite length, and his athleticism from the court translates well.
Iyalekhue has a lot of work to do in terms of becoming a division one caliber OT – heading into his Junior year excited to see the progress he has made and what he can put on tape.
