For the class of 2026, Wortkoetter is a top-100 prospect in NYS. He came to St. Francis with high expectations and delivered with a fierce aggressiveness and impeccable technique. He was named to the All Catholic team as a junior but was unrecognized by the All State and All WNY committees. I expect that to change next season.

McCann is not as highly touted as his peers but he is a tenacious OL. He made the switch from RT as a sophomore to anchoring an explosive offense at Center in his junior season. He is blessed with excellent size. Tim also possesses quick feet and solid hand placement.

Dom is an exceptional athlete that had a remarkable sophomore campaign, ranking second on St. Joe's with 886 all purpose yards and 8 total TDs, while averaging 7.7 yards per touch. He also accumulated 3 INTs and a fumble recovery as the team's starting Safety. Dom has transferred to St. Francis for his junior season, where he will look to improve on his sophomore season.

As a whole, Timon did not have a good season but that is not to say Smith's contributions went unnoticed. The Tigers went in to 2024 with a highly touted junior QB but when he went down in Week 1, Ryan took the reigns and had a productive sophomore season throwing for over 1,200 yards with 12 TDs to just 4 INTs.

2024 started off slow for Rozak but his momentum picked up in the latter half of the season, culminating in a 2 touchdown performance in the Monsignor Martin Championship game. Rozak is a protyipical EDGE rusher with long arms and uses his hands well. He also double times as a TE. Although the Marauders use a run first approach, Stone is a pivotal part to their offensive gameplan.

Players to Watch in 2025

There were several other players this season that did not have the impact that was foreseen but I expect many of them to reach their potential in 2025.

From St. Joe's, [player_tooltip player_id='1257837' first='Owen' last='Kicinski'] is an incredibly fast player that can be used at RB, WR and DB. Incoming seniors RB/LB [player_tooltip player_id='1344757' first='Davion' last='Becker'] and OL [player_tooltip player_id='1257159' first='Ben' last='Foglia-Albrecht'] are also anticipated to make big strides in their final season.

With [player_tooltip player_id='747244' first='Damone' last='Allen'] graduating from St. Francis, the #1 WR position is wide open for the taking. Which will give opportunities to [player_tooltip player_id='747257' first='Matt' last='Zielinski'] & [player_tooltip player_id='743702' first='Nico' last='Pinelli']

At the beginning of the year, I had Canisius QB [player_tooltip player_id='522694' first='Josh' last='Kandefer'] pegged as a breakout player. The Crusaders ended up getting a transfer from Canada which hindered Kandefer's impact. But Josh came in late in their State Championship game, throwing for 201 yards and a TD. It was a valiant effort but was too late. That performance did show that Kandefer could be the man behind center come next season.
