Our final ranking update for the state's 2025 class came out on Thursday. When we first started ranking the state's 2025 class, it began with a Top 25 in February of 2022. Now, it finishes with the Top 300 and many more players listed outside of those 300. Every time we do a ranking update, we dive into the positions with various breakdowns. In this breakdown, we're taking one final look at the running back position. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more 2025 breakdowns and more ranking updates throughout the next month!

TOP FIVE SPOTLIGHT

[player_tooltip player_id='353410' first='Caden' last='Knighten'] - Pauls Valley

Pauls Valley running back and Baylor signee [player_tooltip player_id='353410' first='Caden' last='Knighten'] has had a stranglehold on the number one spot when it comes to 2025 running backs in Oklahoma. Knighten absolutely exploded following his sophomore season at Wynnewood. At that point, he was already one of the best playmakers in the state. After missing almost all of his junior season in 2023, Knighten got a fresh start at Pauls Valley and would end up being the Comeback Player Of The Year following a terrific senior season. Knighten is the complete package at the running back position as a ball carrier and as a pass-catching threat out of the backfield.

[player_tooltip player_id='188013' first='Demarius' last='Robinson'] - Edmond Santa Fe

We don't have anything official but we think that Edmond Santa Fe running back and Arizona State signee [player_tooltip player_id='188013' first='Demarius' last='Robinson'] was the very first 2025 running back that we wrote about on Prep Redzone. We first saw Robinson in a scrimmage at the start of his freshman season. That caught our attention and he hasn't stopped since then. When he's been healthy, Robinson has been one of the best running backs in the state every year and he's done it against the top competition. As a junior, he was absolutely unstoppable and he's been an incredible combination of explosiveness and playmaking ability.

[player_tooltip player_id='593641' first='Caleb' last='Hawkins'] - North Rock Creek

North Rock Creek standout and North Texas signee [player_tooltip player_id='593641' first='Caleb' last='Hawkins'] is a big reason why North Rock Creek is now on the map when it comes to football programs in Oklahoma. They haven't been around for a decade but Hawkins helped lead them to their first playoff appearance as a junior. And then during his senior season, there's no arguing that Hawkins was one of the top overall playmakers in Class 3A and in the state altogether. Hawkins is an absolutely dynamic athlete that is going to be able to impact the game for North Texas. He played a variety of positions in high school but we think he's at his best at running back.

[player_tooltip player_id='515901' first='PJ' last='Wallace'] - Muskogee

Muskogee running back [player_tooltip player_id='515901' first='PJ' last='Wallace'] is headed up north to Pitt State in Kansas. And it's a great get for Pitt State but we'll be honest, and there are players like this in every class, but Wallace should have been recruited at a much higher level. Wallace proved that he can be a workhorse running back during his first three years of high school at Bartlesville. He moved to Muskogee and made up one half of arguably the best QB/RB backfields in the state. Playing for the Roughers, Wallace still produced at an incredibly high level. He's been a terrific player for years now and is capable of taking a game over.

[player_tooltip player_id='479394' first='Rashaud' last='Hurt'] - Lawton Eisenhower

Lawton Eisenhower's [player_tooltip player_id='479394' first='Rashaud' last='Hurt'] made the most of his senior season and reminded us all of why he's one of the state's best at this position when he's healthy. After missing almost all of his junior season, Hurt came back with a vengeance and looked the part once again in 2025. Hurt is in a similar position to Wallace where it doesn't make much sense to us as to why his recruitment was capped at a certain level. Hurt has been a dude for at least three years now and has the potential to continue impacting the game in a variety of ways. Just like Wallace, Hurt is another 2025 RB prospect with a high ceiling.

MORE 2025 STANDOUTS

[player_tooltip player_id='294264' first='Felix' last='Teal'] - Laverne

While we don't cover 8-man football as much as 11-man ball, Laverne's [player_tooltip player_id='294264' first='Felix' last='Teal'] has been on our radar since his breakout season as a freshman. Teal helped guide Laverne to back to back state championships when he was a freshman and sophomore and helped guide them back to the state title game during his senior season. When Teal gets the ball in his hands, he is absolutely electric. He's signed with Emporia State and that's a great get for them because of his ability to beat defenses with speed but he's also a standout in the weight room. It takes a lot to slow down this 8-man powerhouse.

[player_tooltip player_id='434307' first='Barrett' last='Travis'] - Heritage Hall

Heritage Hall running back [player_tooltip player_id='434307' first='Barrett' last='Travis'] went from a solid role player over the last two seasons to one of the best running backs in the state in 2024. Travis has been waiting for his opportunity over the last two years to be the star of this Charger offense and he took full advantage of his moment. He rewrote the record book at Heritage Hall, ran for more than 2,000 yards and was absolutely dominant in the Heritage Hall backfield. He's going to be a player to keep an eye on at the next level. He's headed the JuCo route and we could end up seeing him on the move after a year or two at that level.

[player_tooltip player_id='884992' first='Dawson' last='Fullingim'] - Lincoln Christian

Our final 2025 standout is one that really stood out on both sides of the ball. Lincoln Christian's [player_tooltip player_id='884992' first='Dawson' last='Fullingim'] was not only a powerful running back on offense but he was part of a Lincoln Christian front seven that was one of the best units in the state. Fullingim was one of several running backs that the Bulldogs used on their way to another Class 3A state championship and it always seemed like he played his best in the biggest games of the year and against the toughest competition. Fullingim is a high-IQ player that is going to make a program better when it comes to playing at the next level.
