Every time we do a ranking update, we dive into the positions with various breakdowns. In this breakdown, we're taking one final look at the defensive line position, with breakdowns on some of the guys who have stood out the most to us over the last few years. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more 2025 breakdowns and more ranking updates throughout the next month!

[player_tooltip player_id='294262' first='Alex' last='Shieldnight'] - Wagoner

Wagoner standout and Oklahoma signee [player_tooltip player_id='294262' first='Alex' last='Shieldnight'] is another 2025 prospect that has had a stranglehold on the top spot at his position for a while now. Shieldnight was a prospect that didn't take long to figure out he was the real deal. He's a guy that has the potential to absolutely wreck a game while coming off the edge. He had one of the best high school careers of anyone from this class. He set the school's all time sack record halfway through his junior season. Now, the senior season came to an end abruptly after he suffered a leg injury in the regular season. But he's headed to OU and could be very impactful.

[player_tooltip player_id='353421' first='CJ' last='Nickson'] - Weatherford

Joining Shieldnight at OU to play football is Weatherford's [player_tooltip player_id='353421' first='CJ' last='Nickson'] and similar to Shieldnight, Nickson has been a guy that we've known about for a while now. But his path was completely different than Shieldnight's. In the first two years of his high school career, Nickson was known more for his abilities on the basketball floor. And honestly, Nickson has had an unbelievable high school basketball career and could have played D1 basketball if he wanted to. But on the gridiron, it looked like Nickson's ceiling as a prospect was higher and he eventually committed to Oklahoma. He's a terrific athlete with a high upside moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='294445' first='Cash' last='Jacobsen'] - Jenks

Jenks defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='294445' first='Cash' last='Jacobsen'] is already on the west coast at USC after graduating early. Jacobsen was a 2025 prospect that we really liked before he even really started getting time at the varsity level. He looked like a defensive tackle that could absolutely wreck an opposing offensive line's game plan. But Jacobsen would have to overcome some adversity with injuries early in his varsity career but he saved his best performance for his last year with the Trojans. And Jacobsen is a rare prospect in today's day of recruiting that got the majority of his offers during his senior season after performing incredibly well.

[player_tooltip player_id='846614' first='Josiah' last='Hammond'] - Union

It was around this time last year that Kansas signee [player_tooltip player_id='846614' first='Josiah' last='Hammond'] would move from [player_tooltip player_id='1161912' first='Will' last='Rogers'] to Union and it was also around this time that Hammond was one of the hotter prospects in the state's 2025 class. Hammond got attention from all over the country but eventually settled on Kansas. Now, Hammond is another 2025 prospect that we believe has his best football still ahead of him. He's by no means a finished product right now and will get a chance to prove that at the next level. Kansas has done a great job of recruiting Oklahoma over the last few classes and Hammond is the latest signee to the Jayhawks.

[player_tooltip player_id='268325' first='Garrison' last='Utley'] - Norman North

Every year Oklahoma produces football players that might be overlooked as prospects because they don't match a "cookie cutter" look from typical prospects. Norman North defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='268325' first='Garrison' last='Utley'] is one of those guys in the 2025 class and it's a shame that he wasn't recruited at a higher level. Simply put, there weren't many interior defensive linemen as disruptive and productive as Utley has been over the last few years and he's done it against the toughest competition. He was an absolute monster during his junior season and we have no doubt that he's capable of making a program better in college.

[player_tooltip player_id='660345' first='Reece' last='Satterwhite'] - Owasso

Owasso defensive end [player_tooltip player_id='660345' first='Reece' last='Satterwhite'] is headed to play at the next level at Lindenwood and he is going to bring a lot of energy and disruption to the next level. Satterwhite has been that guy for the last several seasons. He's gone to a couple of our PRZ camps and each time, he's been one of the top guys along the defensive line. And as a senior, Satterwhite was one part of arguably one of the best defensive lines in the state, regardless of class. Satterwhite was an absolute nightmare to deal with for opposing offensive linemen and we expect him to take that same fight and same endless energy to the next level.
