The 6'/215 junior out of Chaparral earned MVP honors for a second time with the growth he showed from this past year. He looked improved athletically and more physically developed with more functional weight to his frame. Checked boxes in every session of the camp and will be interested to see how his testing times compare to last year. Totaled 42 tackles and an INT from his OLB spot as a junior. Coming off a strong junior season with Summit (Fontana) in which he led the team with 84 total tackles, 5 sacks, and 8 TFLs. Carries a strong, physical build at 6'1"/220 with some good power and burst behind his movement. Showed his lateral range reacting to the flats in 1v1s and looked like he'll be among the leaders at the LB position when the official testing numbers come out. He's a physical kid at 6'/210 who's game shines brighter on tape with the pads on than in a camp environment, but put together some solid reps in the indy and 1v1 sessions. Showed promising versatility in his junior film playing both ILB and on the ball as an edge defender making a ton of plays around the LOS from both spots. On Sunday, he looked more developed athletically than when we first saw him last January and showed some promising tools in coverage to go along with the strength and physicality he showed as a run defender in his junior film. He's quick to read and react to his keys and flashed some fluidity moving laterally at the camp. The freshman out of Orange Lutheran presents major upside in the physical tools he put on display at 6'3"/200. Great length and mobility to his still-developing frame and has the physical makeup of a future D-I prospect. He's a physical kid that can play in space and got some time with OLU's varsity squad last fall.
