The premier name and talent at the LOS Holiday Clinic was Forest Lake's [player_tooltip player_id='592117' first='Howie' last='Johnson'], the top defensive lineman in the state regardless of class and also one of its hardest workers. I can't confirm, but Johnson looked bigger since I had last seen them this summer, especially since this was post-Christmas and he hadn't been playing for a month+ and was generally thicker and more filled out after four more months in the weight room. Unsurprisingly, Johnson was also the best player at the event and the undoubted Alpha Dog in the room. Johnson was the most natural, best and most consistent performer, and hardest worker in drills that included get-offs and first steps, 5-10-5 shuttle work, sled pulls, tug of wars, and bench press. His pad level and explosiveness, as well as raw strength - he pumped out 12 close grip reps at 225 after already working out that morning - especially stood out. The Gophers should be very excited about this kid coming into the program in the 2026 cycle.

Waconia's Ombati sure made a splash, not just in the eyes of PrepRedzoneMN, but also impressed the high-class staff at LOS. Ombati has revealed himself as a must-know name in the 2027 class when talking D1 prospects, cemented on a foundation of his strong sophomore film and reinforced with his in-person performance on Saturday night in Eagan. His reported 6'2, 275 lbs. is legit, although he admitted he's down to around 260 due to him currently in the midst of wrestling season, but boy, he holds the weight well, and is a lean, powerfully built DL prospect with a ton of room to grow and noticeable athleticism. The wrestling background doesn't hurt either. Ombati was extremely fluid, with good start/stop ability and quickness, and he was light on his feet and explosive out of his stance. I was also impressed with his general flexibility, especially in his hips, and he stepped up during the bench press portion of the work and easily repped out 225 lbs. nine times despite benching the day before. Additionally, he got a tug-of-war win to show some grit and more than that, he was extremely coachable, wanted and applied feedback on every rep, and was a high-energy, positive presence in the workout. I really like this young buck's skillset, size, and athleticism going into the offseason.

An intriguing defensive line product coming out of Belle Plaine, 6'4, 210 lb. [player_tooltip player_id='1612758' first='Ayden' last='Volek'] was oozing potential, in both his frame and his on-field game. Volek was a tall, long, lean, and wiry build with a noticeable wingspan and an absurd amount of room to fill in. Not only was Volek exciting up-close-and-personal, he owned some exciting quickness to boot. During the testing portion after some 5-10-5 work, Volek posted a 4.53 and 4.62 in the shuttle, good for some of the top times I heard all night. A fun combination made even better by Volek's get-off and first step. I'm pumped I got this dude on my radar.

Solid size on the junior interior DL and OL prospect out of the 651 and South St. Paul High School. Caught my eye during drill work thanks to his build and quickness, and was overall pretty nimble for his reported 6'2, 290 lbs. Henderson also had a nice win in the 1v1 tug-of-war matchup towards the end of the night. Looking forward to getting my eyes on his tape for the 2026 rankings.

A bit of an in-betweener in terms of size, Brown is listed as a LB on White Bear Lake's 2024 roster, and his size lends itself more to the position, but he still owned a noticeably strong build and some good change of direction skills. His get-off was explosive, he showed a quick first step and good pad level, and had two of the best times of the evening on the 5-10-5. Brown went 4.52 and 4.62 and looked good doing it, and he also displayed some power on a good showing during the sled push. Should be a productive offseason for the young Bear.

A towering OT prospect, Jackson showed off solid COD ability and looked coordinated and smooth running the shuttle and when working on lateral drills.
Hard to find talented big-bodies for the iDL spots, especially in the Midwest, but Monemy has some promise as a 6'1, 315+ lber. with another season of high school ball left. Monemy took a bit to warm up, but once competition kicked off, the Coon Rapids standout really locked in. Monemy showed impressive fight, balance, and overall power - which at times overwhelmed his competition and opponents during 1v1 battles. This was especially true during the tug-of-war drills, where he dominated. Good to see him shine when the lights got brightest.

An unassuming outfit disguised Quadri's standout ability and shone brightest when the competition turned hottest. The Apple Valley product moved well and held his 245 lbs. easily for a junior. His short-area quickness was spotlighted well during drills, and he really did a good job of stepping up during 1v1 competition. Showed some impressive grit, balance, and strength during tug-of-war action and also knocked out 6 reps at 225 on the bench press.
The Blaine Bengal junior originally got on our radar during the summer camp circuit, coming into the UWRF Mega Camp and measuring in at 6'2, 208 lbs. while posting a 30.1" vert, 4.78 40, 4.47 shuttle, and 9'1 broad, some impressive numbers at his size. I was a a little surprised to see him working DL technique at the LOS Holiday Clinic, but his athleticism absolutely showed up during the workout, along with some in-person length and a noticeably promising frame, no matter what position he ends up at. His quickness and body control were evident, and his long arms give him an advantage in pass-rush situations. I'm sure he did well during 1v1 reps the following day. I'll be interested to see if he's a full-time DL going forward.

A promising sophomore coming out of the 6A ranks and Woodbury-based East Ridge, Nordstrom gave PrepRedzoneMN a lot to be bullish about going forward. The 6'2, 230 lbr. had legit size, impressive change of direction that manifested in a 4.80 and 4.70 shuttle at over 230 pounds, and was sudden in his first step and during drill work. I like the athleticism displayed by the 6A underclassman up close and in person.
