We are back for more coverage of the outstanding Elite QB Camp put on by Coach Benji Kamrath alongside QB trainer Tanner Morgan. A camp hosted at the amazing indoor facility on the campus of UW- Eau Claire. In my time with Prep Redzone I have attended so many camps including multiple individual position camps. The attention to detail, the lessons, and the quantity of reps that I saw on Sunday was the best I have seen. 34 QBs were able to get dozens upon dozens of pass attempts while working closely with the highly qualified coaching tandem. Among those 36 athletes were a stable of underclassmen that were ready to prove that the future wave of QB talent in WI & MN is in great hands. Let's talk about that group!

The top talent among the 27s-29s, and honestly one of the top talents overall, was Lake Mills' [player_tooltip player_id='1226894' first='Tyler' last='Wollin']. Tyler stood out among the 17 underclassmen in every way. First off, the sophomore had the best frame in the bunch. The 6'3" QB has a well filled out, muscular frame. Yet he still was able to show fluidity in his lower half. That strength and flexibility combines within his mechanics to give Tyler an outstanding arm.

An arm that can drive the ball on a flat line 35+ yards downfield, still put it on a string while on the run, or demonstrate touch on throws where he needs to drop it in a bucket. Wollin's muscle memory when going through his drop and throw was so consistent snap to snap, and it is that ability that gives him his accuracy to every level of the field from the pocket and outside it. This was my first chance to see the 2027 in person and I'm hoping I don't have to wait too long for the next chance. He is a special talent and needs to be high on recruiting boards for the 2027 Class.

It was great to see Jordan throw in person. He is another underclassman who has already had our attention here at Prep Redzone WI for a couple years now. The biggest takeaway from Jordan's performance was that he was a technician. Light on his feet, quick hip snap to start his throw, and a prototypical throwing motion. The 2027 did a great job in drills revolving around movement as well. He is able to stay balanced and ready to set and fire the ball quickly. Jordan also demonstrated accuracy that caught my eyes, especially on deeper passes where he could show off some touch as well.

Going forward I'm excited to see how he continues to fill out his frame and also watch him continue to develop that hip dissociation the coaches talked about. As that improves so will the arm strength, which will push his game to an even higher level. I'm very excited for Jordan's future. Keep an eye on this 2027.

Zeke was a fun athlete to watch, and the more I have looked into him the more I like what I see. The 2027 is a three sport athlete, has the athleticism to not only shine at QB but also play DB, and in the classroom has maintained a 4.0. The reason why I had to dive into the sophomore more is because of how many times he was catching my eyes on Sunday.

Zeke is a naturally gifted thrower of the football. It looks like the ball is slingshot out of his hand. The kid can sling it with velocity that honestly caught me off guard. It didn't matter if the drill was 7 yards to the sideline or 30 yards downfield. Zeke is able to put the zip on the ball to get it there without having to float it in the air. It also showed up multiple times in my notes from him that he was able to demonstrated excellent ball placement based on what the drill called for. Darlington has a good one here in the 2027 QB.

Another underclassman who has already been making a positive impression for a couple years now is [player_tooltip player_id='1226908' first='Cole' last='Erdmann']. I have been a fan of his tape, so it was great to see him throw the ball around in person. The 2027 is developing well. He is an athletic kid who looked at home in the play action or roll out drills. Just as impressive was the consistent accuracy in the short-intermediate throws that we saw all day long. Plus Cole flashed his touch on the deep ball multiple times. The 2027 already has varsity experience under his belt and knows what to expect going forward. I'm excited for his further growth and development at the position.
One of those areas is surely going to be his arm strength. Right now, Cole is able to get the job done. He can get the ball to the necessary spots to be a successful varsity starter. However, what is going to take him into that next tier of QBs is being able to attack every level with velocity so he can hit tight windows and beat DBs to the receiver deep downfield. As Coach Morgan and Kamrath talked about, continuing to develop his hip dissociation and flexibility will take that velocity to the next level. Excited to watch the kid continue to develop and tap into his potential.

Leading the way for freshmen standouts was Catholic Memorial's [player_tooltip player_id='1287562' first='Dalton' last='Steinke']. The building blocks that Dalton has to build upon are special. It is clear that the '28 has put in a lot of time on his mechanics. Everything moves fluidly from his feet, to his hips, to the ball coming out of his hand. You can see it watching through his video clips from the day. His hip does a great job of creating that torque within his body so that he can fire the ball on a rope. I have mentioned it a lot in the recap of this camp, but it was clear who was at a spot in their development where they could attack downfield and do it with velocity. The freshman was one of those kids. Dalton also looked great throwing on the run, still maintaining the ability to throw with velocity. Most importantly, his control over ball placement looked natural for him. He wasn't fighting the ball. It always went right the spot, or shoulder that the rep was designed for. Big things ahead for Dalton. Get him on your radars early.

Freshman Nolberto Rosales was another athlete who came in with the athleticism to allow him to be a two way player. So much so that the '28 saw varsity action at safety while also being the JV MVP at QB for Racine Park. Nolberto looked right at home on the run, changing direction within his dropback, or quick setting and getting the ball out. The 5'11" 170 lbs athlete also has a strong frame and flexible hips, giving him an arm with power that instantly caught my eyes. It looks effortless for Rosales to get the ball to fire out of his hand on a string. Between Nolberto's athleticism and arm strength I'm looking forward to years of watching him on Friday nights as he continues to grow, learn, and develop. Exciting things ahead for the '28!

We end with a MN standout, and one of two 8th graders in attendance. [player_tooltip player_id='888363' first='Brayden' last='Hartmann'] doesn't officially have a HS home yet, but what the kid does have talent to develop and lean on at the QB position. Brayden is another athlete who I labeled as a technician. Despite his age it looked like the '29 has put in time learning the position. He has a smooth throwing motion, and the ball came out of his hand in a perfectly tight spiral every rep that I watched from him. Brayden was also surgically accurate in the short and intermediate levels. His threat downfield will come as he grows and gets stronger, but right now the 8th grader is leaning on touch, accuracy, and efficiency. Three areas that will lead a QB to a lot of success. I'm looking forward to 4 more years of [player_tooltip player_id='888363' first='Brayden' last='Hartmann'].
