The Rams have been on top of the 6A-1 rankings since knocking off Bixby and Jenks to kick off the season. Bixby continues to make history, punching their ticket to the state title game for the 11th consecutive season, a state record. The Spartans are also looking to become the first 11-man program in state history to win seven consecutive state championships. In this breakdown, we're putting the spotlight on ten Owasso Rams to keep an eye on Friday night. These ten players have had terrific 2024 campaigns and will look to impact Friday's game. Keep it locked into Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more state championship preview content!

RELATED

– 6A-1 State Championship First Look

- Bixby Players To Watch

[player_tooltip player_id='350246' first='Blake' last='Cherry'] - Senior Offensive Lineman

Senior [player_tooltip player_id='350246' first='Blake' last='Cherry'] is the first of two offensive linemen prospects on this breakdown but they've certainly earned it. Cherry, an Arkansas commit, has been a special talent on the Owasso offensive line for a few years now. Cherry and the rest of this Owasso offensive line have paved the way for one of the top rushing attacks in the state and we're not just talking about in Class 6A-1. At their core this season, Owasso can absolutely maul opponents with their ground game and it starts with players like Cherry and this Owasso offensive line. And when we look back at the week zero meeting between these two heavyweight teams, Cherry and the Rams definitely won the battle on the line of scrimmage. This week's game could be won or lost on the line of scrimmage too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1235926' first='Drew' last='Frankenfield'] - Sophomore Quarterback

We've written about sophomore quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1235926' first='Drew' last='Frankenfield'] quite a bit this season and he's earned it with his play on the field. As we've said in the past, Frankenfield has never really looked like a sophomore leading this offense for the first time. And that started right from the start of the season against two of the best teams in Class 6A-1. Now, Frankenfield is also the quarterback for an Owasso offense that feels like they are at their best when they are just leaning on defenses with a mauling offensive line and a terrific run game. But when Frankenfield is asked to make a play with his arm or legs, he's been able to answer the call every time. He had a terrific debut to his career against the Spartans in late August and looks to cap off a terrific sophomore season with a ring.

[player_tooltip player_id='1566660' first='Hudson' last='Hodges'] - Senior Linebacker

Senior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1566660' first='Hudson' last='Hodges'] has had a terrific senior season and is another example of a player that had a strong showing in the week zero meeting against the Spartans. On one drive in particular, Bixby was driving and Hodges came up with an interception near the goal line to end a promising possession. Hodges has also been a tackling machine all season and has really seemed to step up his game in the last month. Now, Hodges and the rest of the Owasso defense will have their hands full with a Bixby offense that has certainly improved from that week zero meeting. But there's no doubt that Hodges should come into this week's championship game with some confidence and know that he's shown the ability to make big plays against Bixby.

[player_tooltip player_id='1549987' first='Jayden' last='Hall'] - Junior Running Back

Junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1549987' first='Jayden' last='Hall'] is one of three running backs that can do a lot of damage to an opponent. We've said this before and we'll say it here as the Rams have a legitimate three-headed monster at the running back position and each one brings something a little different to the table. For Hall, he's gone over 1,000 yards on the season and has become a magnet to the end zone. He leads the team in rushing touchdowns and simply finds a way into the end zone week after week. And Hall comes into this week with a lot of confidence after the way last week's semifinal game ended. The Owasso junior would score the game-winning touchdown in the third overtime in their win over Jenks. Hall also found the end zone against Bixby back in week zero.

[player_tooltip player_id='1163613' first='Jaylon' last='Moll'] - Senior Defensive Back

It seems weird to say that a starter on a top-ranked and undefeated team is flying under the radar but that's what we're saying here. Senior cornerback [player_tooltip player_id='1163613' first='Jaylon' last='Moll'] is one of the best cornerbacks in the state and we stand by that statement. Moll had a lot of success against the Spartans back in week zero and he has had a terrific senior campaign. Moll might be flying under the radar because he's not the biggest cornerback in the height department but we couldn't care less. Go throw on the tape from that week zero game. Moll was giving up six or more inches to the man he was one on one with and won a ton of those match-ups. In that game Moll also came up with a huge interception in the end zone on a fade ball. He's someone that shouldn't be overlooked.

[player_tooltip player_id='1286148' first='Makari' last='Alexander'] - Senior Defensive Back

Looking back at some of our notes from the week zero meeting between these two teams, senior defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1286148' first='Makari' last='Alexander'] was one of the players that stood out to us and he's continued to gain momentum this season. Alexander is a hard-hitting defensive back that did a great job at slowing down Bixby's rushing attack and also putting pressure on the Bixby quarterback. If Owasso is getting that kind of defensive production from the secondary, that's going to make things easier for the front seven, that is not lacking talent. Alexander is a player that moved to Owasso from Edison and is an athletic prospect that we liked coming into this season. He's had a solid senior campaign and is definitely a 2025 prospect to keep an eye on in the next month.

[player_tooltip player_id='1570331' first='Noah' last='Hill'] - Junior Wide Receiver

Junior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1570331' first='Noah' last='Hill'] has emerged as one of the top weapons in this Owasso offense. Hill had a solid sophomore season, with a little over 500 yards in a breakout season. And he certainly came into this season expecting to see his production go up and it has done just that. Hill had a great stretch earlier in the season where caught at least one touchdown in the final eight games of the regular season. Following the regular season, Hill was Owasso's leading receiver in all three major categories. Now, the Rams are starting to get healthier at that position and therefore, they'll be deeper and more dangerous. And Hill will be jumping at the opportunity to get another match-up with Bixby after being held to just two catches in week zero.

[player_tooltip player_id='350245' first='Ryker' last='Haff'] - Senior Offensive Lineman

Senior offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='350245' first='Ryker' last='Haff'] is the other part of the two offensive linemen on this breakdown. The 1-2 punch of Haff and Cherry on the offensive line has made this unit a pretty unstoppable force. Haff, an OSU commit and the rest of the line flexed their muscles and showed just how dominant they could be in the semifinal win over Jenks. There was one drive where they decided to run the ball every play and they were successful. With Cherry at one tackle position and Haff at the other, they have paved the way for that three-headed monster we mentioned earlier with the run game. The Rams were set up to have a lot of success because of the maulers they have up front. Now, Haff and Cherry look to finish off their impressive high school careers with a ring.

[player_tooltip player_id='1217089' first='Tahkari' last='Bethel'] - Junior Wide Receiver

Owasso beat Bixby 40-21 a little over three months ago and that's a lot of time but in that match-up, there is no question that junior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1217089' first='Tahkari' last='Bethel'] was the best player on the field that night. After missing a lot of his sophomore season, Bethel opened his junior year with a bang. He was a big play wide receiver, making some of the best touchdown catches that we saw all season. He also returned a kick for another touchdown, making himself even more valuable to the Rams. Bethel missed time earlier this season but it looks like he'll be good to go for Friday's championship clash with the Spartans. We're looking forward to seeing what he does for an encore when he steps on the field against the Spartans for the second time this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1179991' first='Tajh' last='Overton'] - Junior Defensive Lineman

Junior defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1179991' first='Tajh' last='Overton'] emerged this offseason as one of the best overall prospects in the state's 2026 class. He saw his recruitment absolutely explode and major college programs have been coming after him for nearly 12 months now. And when you throw on the tape or see Overton in person, you can see why. He's an absolute force in the middle of the line of scrimmage for the Rams. And we like this Owasso defensive line because they have experienced talent at each position. And when you go back to the week zero meeting with Bixby, Overton was able to win a lot of match-ups and cause chaos in the Bixby backfield. If the Owasso junior is able to replicate that production, the Rams might be well on their way to another gold ball.
