Among the names on the list are players that have been mentioned throughout the year that may be familiar to our readers, and their names were brought up often for how well they've played week in and week out. Jirovsky led Class 1A with 25 touchdown passes while throwing only 1 interception all season. Drake-Metzger will now be taking his talents to Bemidji State. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Lew Textor, SR, Dike-New Hartford</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The centerpiece of Dike-New Hartford's offensive line helped the Wolverines rank 2nd in Class 1A in offensive touchdowns (60) and rushing touchdowns (45), while ranking 3rd in Class 1A in total offensive yards (4116). </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>First Team Defense:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>DL:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Julien Kramer, JR, Beckman Catholic</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Kramer was the only player in Class 1A to post double-digit sacks in 2024, with 10.5. Robbins finished with 52.5 tackles and 2 sacks as well in 2024. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1370717' first='Kane' last='Mahler-Moreno'], JR, Woodward-Granger</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mahler-Moreno was one of the best two-way players from Class 1A in 2024, recording 44.5 tackles, 19.5 TFLs, and 8 sacks on defense, while also catching 34 passes for 749 yards and 11 touchdowns as a WR. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Jack Hoehns, SR, Dike-New Hartford</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Spearheading what was a defense that allowed the 3rd fewest points per game defensively (10.7 PPG), Hoehns finished with 30 tackles, 13.5 TFLs, and 8 sacks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>LB:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Lucas Bose Jr., SR, Underwood</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bose was one of the best run-stopping OLBs in 2024. His 29.5 TFLs ranked as T-2nd most in the state this season. Bose added 77 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, 2 interceptions, and 1 defensive touchdown in his senior campaign. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1418217' first='Adam' last='Baier'], SR, Red Oak</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The LB/SS hybrid defender was one of the few bright spots for a struggling Red Oak team in 2024. Baier's 100.5 tackles ranked 2nd most among all Class 1A defenders, while adding 8.5 TFLs and a sack. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1880262' first='Cooper' last='Gates'], JR, West Branch</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Building off a solid sophomore year in 2023, [player_tooltip player_id='1880262' first='Cooper' last='Gates'] began to look like the complete package for the Bears' defense this season, leading the team with 61.5 tackles, 13 TFLs, and 7 sacks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>DB:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1614184' first='Judd' last='Jirovsky'], JR, Grundy Center</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The first-team QB selection also earns a spot as a first-team DB selection after a brilliant year on both sides of the ball. Jirovsky's 8 interceptions tied for the most in Class 1A, while also returning 2 for touchdowns. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Jordan Dusenberry, SR, Wilton</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Dusenberry proved to be a nightmare for opposing QBs playing at FS, finishing his senior season with 43 tackles and 8 interceptions. 4 of those interceptions came in the quarterfinal round as Wilton upset Regina Catholic for the first time in 36 years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Carson Costello, SR, Dike-New Hartford</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Carson Costello blossomed into a dangerous X-factor for the Wolverines' secondary in his senior season, recording 27.5 tackles, 7 interceptions, and 1 defensive touchdown playing at the FS position.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>First Team Special Teams:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Kicker:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Ben Krambeer, SR, MFL Marmac</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Krambeer finished his senior season 4 of 8 on field goals with a season-long 43 yarder, while going 22 of 25 on extra points. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Punter:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Reese Stokes, JR, Hinton</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On 34 punts this season, Stokes averaged 36.9 yards per punt. Stokes also went 4 of 6 on field goal attempts and 39 of 47 on extra point attempts. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Kick Returner:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1466973' first='Ethan' last='Reiter'], SR, Denver</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1466973' first='Ethan' last='Reiter'] was Denver's swiss army knife in 2024, as the team's leading receiver, a starter in the secondary, and a standout in the return-game. Reiter's 502 kick return yards ranked 2nd most in Class 1A, as he averaged 31.4 yards per return and had 3 return touchdowns.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Punt Returner:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Carson Costello, SR, Dike-New Hartford</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Along with his presence in the secondary, Costello was solid fielding punts.
