<!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">#4 Kenmore West @ #1 McKinley</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Several Penalties by Kenmore West were too much for the Blue Devils to overcome in this one as the Macks gained redemption from an early season lost to Ken West. McKinley came out and scored 31 straight points before Ken West got on the board with 2 minutes left. But it was too late as the Macks got the victory 31-8. Hughes showed great power between the tackles and had an extraordinary 13 yard run on 4th and 10 that extended a drive. Hughes has phenomenal balance and will be counted on in the championship game. After playing as a center in his sophomore season, Hemphill moved to Left Guard where he is flourishing with excellent power and solid footwork. Hill is quick off the ball and very fast but also has a bullrush in his arsenal. Niear was electric scoring TDs from 15, 70 and 88 yards out respectively. Patterson has a quick burst, excellent football intuition and can play both sides of the ball. Tubin was fantastic and lead his offense on 5 scoring drive - ending in 3 rushing scores of his own and a passing TD. In the second half, Bryce was even called upon to step in at DB.
