Louisiana's top Week 8 large schools performances

Mason Drake — 5-9, 160 RB — Loyola Prep (2026)   The junior rushed 24 times for a career-high 230 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-6 defeat of Booker T. Washington (Shreveport). [player_tooltip player_id='913904' first='Brent' last='Gordon Jr.'] — 5-11, 175 DB/WR — Cecilia (2025)   The Louisiana (Lafayette) commit racked up 21 tackles, including one for loss, and forced two fumbles in the Bulldogs' 28-27 loss to Opelousas, while also blocking a punt and catching four passes for 67 yards and a touchdown.   Jacob Guichet — 6-0, 180 QB — The Willow School (2025)   The senior quarterback completed 19 of his 22 passes for 333 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for another two scores in a 50-28 defeat of Ben Franklin.   Caden Heck — 6-0, 150 QB — Covington (2025)   Heck rushed 17 times for 157 yards and four scores and completed 10 of his 14 passes for 105 yards in a 49-13 win against Hammond. Joshua Isaac — 5-7, 155 RB/ATH — Evangel Christian (2025)   The senior running back provided balance to Houston's passing attack with his 146 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries, plus three catches for 75 yards.   Zach Jenkins — 5-10, 180 QB — Lutcher (2025)   Jenkins completed eight of his 13 passes for 194 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for another score in the Bulldogs' 56-0 roll past A.J. Ellender. Matthew Lee — 6-2, 165 DB — West Ouachita (2025)   The Chiefs' senior safety helped lead their 34-13 win against Wossman with his 10 tackles and two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown. Brooks Monica — LB — St. Charles Catholic (2026)   Monica helped lead his Comets' 14-13 defeat of previously undefeated Belle Chasse with his 17.5 tackles, including 3.5 for loss. Owen Smith — QB — Natchitoches Central (2026)   The Chiefs' junior completed 28 of 41 passes for 401 yards and five touchdowns and ran for 147 yards and another score in a 76-52 loss to Airline.
