Washington tight end and Ohio State commit [player_tooltip player_id='353411' first='Nate' last='Roberts'] is once again the top overall prospect in the state's 2025 class. He's held on to the top spot for a while now and this fall, he's once again the team's leading receiver. Washington has won 39 consecutive games and they are once again the favorites to capture the state championship. Roberts has been considered one of the state's top prospects for a long time now and has been recruited as such. Last summer, Roberts committed to Notre Dame but reopened his recruitment and eventually landed on Ohio State. There's a reason why Roberts continues to be the state's top prospect in this class. He's as close to a "sure thing" as you'll find in this class and we'd be absolutely stunned if he didn't have success at the next level.

Checotah wide receiver and Oklahoma commit [player_tooltip player_id='353415' first='Elijah' last='Thomas'] is in the same conversation with Roberts as a "sure thing" prospect. You watch his game and you won't find many areas where he doesn't look like an elite prospect. Thomas has been a stud for Checotah since his freshman season and he's become one of the state's very best players. In all three phases of the game, Thomas is an absolute game changer and has filled up the stat sheet in every capacity over the last few seasons. And in the last two offseasons, Thomas proved that he could compete at a high level and wasn't just dominating 3A competition. He showed out at the Oklahoma camp in 2023 and then won the WR MVP award at the Under Armour camp earlier this year in a camp full of potential stars.

Similar to Thomas, Carl Albert standout and Oklahoma commit [player_tooltip player_id='598824' first='Trystan' last='Haynes'] is one of the best overall players in Oklahoma and that's been the case for a while now. Last season, Haynes emerged as a true threat in all three phases of the game. He became the team's leading receiver, a lockdown cornerback and a major threat in the return game. The difference in the top three overall prospects is very small and Haynes has a very good argument for being the top guy in this class. This season, Haynes has been outstanding as the Titans have taken their game to a new level this fall. And that statement is crazy to think about considering where they've been over the last few seasons. Haynes has Carl Albert right back in a position to win their third straight state title.

Elgin offensive lineman and Tennessee commit [player_tooltip player_id='629029' first='Antoni' last='Kade Ogumoro'] is definitely making the most of his one season playing Oklahoma high school football. Ogumoro moved to southern Oklahoma from North Carolina this offseason and he immediately became one of the top overall prospects in the state's 2025 class. He had a very busy offseason on the recruiting trail and eventually landed on a commitment to Tennessee. Ogumoro is part of an Elgin offensive line that is one of the best units in the state and they've paved the way for an offense that is incredibly hard to stop Elgin has been our top-ranked team in Class 4A since June and nothing has changed since then. Ogumoro is a powerful blocker that seems to always perform at a high level.

Wagoner standout and Oklahoma commit [player_tooltip player_id='294262' first='Alex' last='Shieldnight'] is another prospect in the state's 2025 class that has been a star for a long time now. As a freshman, Wagoner head coach Dale Condict pointed out Shieldnight as a player that could be one of the best that has come through his historic program. And three years later, he was absolutely spot on. As a junior in 2023, Shieldnight would become the school's all time sack leader and he has continued to put that record at a mark that is going to be incredibly tough to touch moving forward. Unfortunately, Shieldnight's senior season came to an end just a few weeks ago when he suffered a season-ending leg injury. Despite the leg injury, Shieldnight is still one of the top prospects in the state.

Pauls Valley running back and Baylor commit [player_tooltip player_id='353410' first='Caden' last='Knighten'] returned to the field in 2024 with a vengeance. As a sophomore in 2022, Knighten emerged as one of the state's best running backs. Last year, he started the year with nagging injuries that only got worse and eventually sidelined him for the season. This year, Knighten moved to Pauls Valley in the offseason and from the moment he stepped on the field, Knighten returned to the player that we saw in 2022 that became one of the state's best. Knighten has been a match-up nightmare for opponents this season. Not only is he one of the best running backs in the state, he's also emerged as a serious threat as a receiver out of the backfield. It's been great to see Knighten return to star status this fall.

Muskogee quarterback and Texas State commit [player_tooltip player_id='211556' first='Jamarian' last='Ficklin'] is once again our QB1 for the state's 2025 class. From the start of the 2023 season, Ficklin has been the very best signal caller in the state and nothing has changed in the last 15 months. Last season, you can make a very strong argument that Ficklin was the best overall player in the state as he led the Roughers to their first state championship in nearly four decades. This season, Ficklin has the Roughers right back in a position to contend for the title and everything about his game this year has been incredibly smooth. As a passer, a runner and a clutch performer, Ficklin has been able to do it all at a very high level. The consensus across the state is that Texas State is getting an absolute steal with Ficklin.

Owasso offensive lineman and Oklahoma State commit [player_tooltip player_id='350245' first='Ryker' last='Haff'] was a player that got on our radar following his freshman year. Owasso's coaches were incredibly high on his (and another highly ranked OL prospect's) potential moving forward and they were absolutely right. Haff has been starting for the Rams at tackle for three seasons now and continues to play at an extremely high level. Haff and the rest of this Owasso offensive line has paved the way for the Rams to have one of the best offenses in the state this season. Haff is an absolute mauler on the line of scrimmage and there aren't many players in Oklahoma that have had success against him in a one on one situation. Haff has been committed to the Cowboys and should give them a big boost.

Weatherford senior and Oklahoma commit [player_tooltip player_id='353421' first='CJ' last='Nickson'] has been one of the state's best overall athletes for several years now. In the latest ranking update, we finally moved Nickson to the position he's most likely to play at the next level and that's on defense on the line of scrimmage. Don't overlook his playmaking ability on offense. But Nickson is probably more known around Oklahoma for his abilities on the basketball court. He's one of the state's best basketball prospects and has had legitimate D1 offers and helped the Eagles win a lot of games. But following his sophomore season, it became apparent that his ceiling as an overall prospect might be higher on the gridiron. There's no doubt that he's one of the best athletes in the state, regardless of class.

Carl Albert linebacker and Oklahoma commit [player_tooltip player_id='377954' first='Marcus' last='James'] had to miss the beginning of his senior season after getting hurt in one of the preseason scrimmages. He's made up for lost time and continues to be the state's top linebacker prospect in the state's 2025 class. James has been that dude for a while now and the ceiling has always been incredibly high for him since he was a freshman and sophomore at Bishop McGuinness. He moved to Carl Albert before his junior season and coincidentally, his recruitment absolutely exploded. After six months of racking up the offers from major programs, James would commit to Oklahoma. James is still that same linebacker prospect who has a very high ceiling. He's physical, fast and getting better and better.
