The biggest recruiting news of the month hit when the state's #2 overall prospect flipped his commitment from Tennessee to Oregon in the final week of September. Bishop Gorman's star OL committed to the Volunteers in June and now plans to join fellow teammate and Oregon-commit, [player_tooltip player_id='820593' first='Alai' last='Kalaniuvalu'], in Eugene.

Carrington was in attendance for USC's 38-21 victory over Wisconsin this past weekend. The top overall prospect in Nevada's 2026 class has continued to be a disruptive force on the defensive front-seven with 2 sacks and 15 tackles for his new team this season. Carrington holds 20+ Power Four offers.

Correa took a visit to Boise St. for the Broncos' win over Portland St. in late September. Bishop Gorman's senior DB is putting together a strong senior season showing his ability to create turnovers in coverage and his physicality as a tackler. He's a strong defender in space and is highly effective covering up the seams. Correa currently holds offers from Hawaii and Northern Arizona and could potentially add Boise St. to that list in the near future.

Washington was in Tuscaloosca for Alabama's statement win over Georgia this past weekend and saw Michigan take down USC in Ann Arbor the weekend prior. The #2 overall prospect in Nevada's 2026 class added an offer from the Tide in August and was impressed by what he saw from the #1 team in the nation. Washington holds over 15 offers from Big-10 and SEC schools.

DePaepe took gameday visits to Nevada and Cal in September. The 6'1"/205 ILB is putting together another strong season with 92 total tackles and 14 TFLs after leading the state in tackles (173) as a sophomore. He's a downhill defender in the run game that's at his best filling holes between the OTs and creating negative plays in the backfield. DePaepe's stock is on the rise as one of the top unoffered 2026 defenders in the state halfway through his junior season.

Maafala-Barbasa was on campus for a gameday visit to Utah Tech in September. The 6'2"/230 DE is putting together his breakout junior season showing the skill and physicality he can provide off the edge. I like the activity and commitment to assignment he's played with as a run defender through the first half of the season. Maafala-Barbasa's first offer came from Central Michigan in May.
