It was a tough fought and close battle in the first half, with the halftime score being 13-6 in Monticello's favor. In the second half, Monticello was able to pull ahead and come out with a 47-13 victory. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Next week, Monticello (5-2) travels to take on the <a href="https://www.maxpreps.com/va/crozet/western-albemarle-warriors/football/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Western Albemarle Warriors</a> (2-5). What impressed me most in the game is the physical toughness he plays with, especially at the running back position. He does not shy away from contact, and his feet keep churning on every run. He played a big role in affecting Albermale's passing game that prevented them from answering any of Monticello's scoring drives in the second half. While DL is his future, he also played very well on the offensive line. Albemarle covered him with a tall and athletic CB, but Michael was able to consistently gain separation. He ended the day with two long TD catches. He ended with 4TDs and was accurate throughout the game with good ball placement. He has received a <a href="https://x.com/OwenEngel12/status/1816553220052857074" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">couple offers</a> to play in college and could see some more come. He is coachable during the game and applies the coaching points given on the sideline. He also affected a punt that I could not tell if he got a piece of it or not, but nonetheless, his pressure forced a bad punt to give Monticello great field position. It confirmed that he has the size, strength, and ability to become a dominant defensive tackle in the state. If you want a chance to move him, you need at least a double team against him. Playing in the slot receiver role, he took an intermediate route and maneuvered his way through the defense.
