We're already at the midseason point of the 2024 high school football season in West Virginia! It's time to shine a spotlight on some unranked prospects who may have been under the radar heading into the season but deserve notoriety at the halfway point of the season. Here are some unranked senior prospects to know at the midway point.

2025 Westside QB [player_tooltip player_id='907153' first='Kadien' last='Vance'] was a First 3 Weeks Stock Riser and his favorite target this season has been classmate [player_tooltip player_id='1316695' first='Kyler' last='Kenneda'] who's having a tremendous first half of his senior year.

Kenneda has caught 17 passes for 423 yards and 6 touchdowns while averaging nearly 25 yards per catch in just four games played. He does a nice job finding open space to sit down during his routes and can continue improving as a route runner and becoming quicker and more sudden. However, once Kenneda gets the ball in the open field he's a tough tackle and can accelerate to top speed quickly which sneaks up on defenders. He's a small college prospect who D3 programs should be monitoring during his strong start to his senior year.

We got to see 2025 Preston WR [player_tooltip player_id='1227644' first='Cody' last='Smith'] at our PRZ WV Combine earlier this year and he's putting together a very strong senior year for the Knights at the halfway point of the season.

Smith is coming off a great performance against East Fairmont which saw him catch 3 passes for 117 yards and 2 touchdowns. He's a nice-sized target on the outside who can also line up in the slot of tight to the line and can execute a wide range of routes. Smith is a rangy player with quality speed that can beat defenses over the top but can also utilize his route-running ability on intermediate routes. He has experience at DB and LB as well and has provided quality play at those spots as well this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1514896' first='Wyatt' last='Swanger'] was a nice find at the midseason point and the 2025 Hampshire WR/DE may play himself into some scholarship offers this year if he continues to post film.

We have a two-game sample size available right now but there's a lot to work with in Swanger who has great 6'4 195 size and could grow into a future tight end. Hampshire has spread the ball out this season and Swanger is an imposing target on the outside with a large catch radius. He's also been solid as a defensive end with his length and athleticism which is an intriguing spot for him as well if he can continue adding size. There's not a lot of pass-catching film of Swanger right now but from the glimpses we've seen, he's certainly an under-the-radar athlete to follow the rest of the season.

A small school senior prospect to know is 2025 Clay-Battelle WR [player_tooltip player_id='1514900' first='Landon' last='Savage'] who is very under-the-radar right now.

Savage would be a good Sprint Football or D3 prospect given his 5'6 150 size, but he has some juice with the ball in his hands. He's a quick and speedy athlete with a quality track background who may be undersized but is dangerous in the open field. Savage can turn on the jets and turns and will get up the field quickly. He's utilized well in the screen and short passing game and can turn quick passes into chunk plays. Savage can provide a spark as a kick returner as well, and you can get him the ball on sweeps and touch passes as well with his east-west quickness.

2025 Washington WR/DB [player_tooltip player_id='909082' first='Terry' last='Rea III'] has provided good depth at receiver for the Patriots this season but has been even more impressive as a defensive back.

He's totaled 29 tackles and 3 interceptions which includes two for touchdowns. Rea is another prospect we saw live at the PRZ WV Combine and we're finally getting extended film of him this season which should have colleges keeping tabs on him. He's a bit undersized but very athletic and could play on either side of the ball at the next level. Rea has natural ball skills as a WR and as a DB that allows him to create highlight catches consistently. Being a coach's son, he's also a smart and heady player that puts himself in good positions to make plays on offense and defense. D2 and D3 programs should be on Rea this season as he further gets his name out there.

Wallace has put good things on film as a receiver, defensive, and kick returner with clear playmaking ability in all three phases of the game. DB may be where he best translates to the next level and is an under-the-radar prospect that D2 programs should be monitoring closely. Wallace has flashed twitch and explosiveness in all three phases and has some juice with the ball in his hands. He's a fluid athlete with very good speed and quickness, and he closes well on receivers in pass coverage. Wallace has a lot of tools to work with that should intrigue colleges as we get film of him for the first time during his senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1126309' first='Brayden' last='Bishop'] is another 2025 Westside WR/DB to know this season as they're having the best start in their program's history.

Bishop has totaled 16 tackles and 2 TFLs while also racking up 6 passes defended. He's a long and lanky defensive back in the 6'1 range that creates matchup issues in the passing game. Bishop's length and athleticism make it difficult for quarterbacks to lob passes over him, and you can leave him in single-man coverage and feel confident. Even with a slighter build, Bishop isn't afraid to come downhill in run support as a quality open-field tackler as well. Once he fills out his long frame, Bishop could end up being a steal at the next level.

Wallace is a good athlete who has flashed in all three phases of the game for the Cougars so far this season and has quality film at receiver, defensive back, and as a kick returner. He's a fluid athlete with some twitch and elusiveness with the ball in his hands and has shown glimpses of explosiveness.

Harris is a safety prospect who often walks up to cover the slot head-up and is very solid playing near the line of scrimmage. He's very good at defending screen passes and closes on the ball quickly with good pursuit. Even as an undersized DB, Harris has shown tremendous physicality when blowing up his attempted blocker and tackles well in space. He plays like a fourth linebacker on the field and should have small college options after the season.

Backus is another smaller defensive back who's very athletic and can run step for step with most receivers. He has fluid hips out of his breaks and changes direction quickly in coverage. Backus has a nose for the ball and has generated numerous interceptions in the past two years. He plays in space well and can close and recover on his man quickly. Backus is a prime candidate for Sprint and D3 looks this season.

Burgess can line up in a variety of positions for the Warriors but is best as a scatback and slot corner. He's undersized but has some juice as an offensive playmaker with the ball in the open field. Burgess has quality speed and quickness and is elusive in space. He can change direction on offense and can cover ground quickly as well with solid closing speed on receivers when on defense. Burgess is a quality open-field tackler for his size and plays the run well too. He's very under-the-radar but can provide value to small colleges on either side of the ball.
