Lawrence Central narrowly lost to rival Lawrence North in Week One by a seven-point margin in a crazy back-and-forth contest. The loss undoubtedly left a bitter taste in the Bears' mouths, but they ended the regular season on a positive note with a 17-14 victory over Carmel. Tomorrow they'll have a chance at redemption when they square off against the undefeated Wildcats in the Class 6A opening sectional round.

Lawrence North has had a magical regular season, but could Lawrence Central pull off an upset? The Western Michigan recruit is a great pass rusher with multiple moves who takes good angles to the quarterback. His play will be essential if the Bears are to pull off a big win against the Wildcats. When he has time to throw, Walker can hit receivers in stride and hit fades downfield with precision accuracy. Walker is still a super-athletic freak at 6-foot-4, 178 pounds, and still has a huge amount of raw talent to pose a threat.

One opposing coach called Beasley “the problem” and it's easy to see why. Starting primarily at DE opposite Carter, Beasley is a stout run defender with a quick first step and good instincts. He is a good block shedder and plays with good knee bend and leverage. His strength v. the run is a big issue the Wildcats will have to account for.

Davis is a tall, long and athletic and very versatile prospect. He can align at tight end and both inside and outside receiver spots and be successful. The 6-foot-6 do-it-all and Wisconsin recruit is a big-time player. He is a very effective run blocker and was very good against the Wildcats back in Week One. He will need to step up as a receiver and be a target for Walker if the Bears are to have a chance.

Parks had a big Week One game against the Wildcats, rushing for 133 yards and a touchdown. He quickly gets vertical and is a threat with the ball in his hands. He's a tough runner who finishes forward on contact, flashes good balance in space, and can get yards after contact. The Bears also have a high-quality guy behind Parks in Al Gooden, who wastes no time getting north and south and added 58 yards of his own back in Week One.
