Under the Radar Players from Prep Redzone Rankings

With the first updated rankings of the season coming out, let's take a look at some of the players in the area that may fly a little under the radar, but absolutely have the talent to have a future in the sport. As the season goes on and the rankings are continually updated, there will be more articles like this.    When looking for the physical attributes of a tackle, Herrera checks all of those boxes. At 6'7" 290 lbs with long arms and quick feet, he has shown to be able to put all of those tools together and excel at the position, and will only improve with experience. Alexander showed out his freshman year, in camps over the offseason, and has been able to show that out in the first couple weeks of the season. While not being listed in both the Texas and position rankings, he definitely has the tools and has shown to be able to make an impact in the game.     Whenever you watch Cotton play, you see someone who plays like they are trying to prove something. Through only a couple of games this year at the varsity level, he is averaging 8.2 yards per carry over 205 yards with two touchdowns, and I would not be surprised of that average maintains or even increases. With consistent snaps on the variety team and an ability to play at this level continually, the progression of Cotton's play can definitely lead to him getting on and climbing up the rankings.     A combination of size, balance, speed, and strength, Ingram has all of the tools needed and has shown them to be a great running back over the next couple of years. He is able to to find and explode through running lanes, and more often than not, break through the first tackle from the defender and gain extra yards. With the team that is around him and his willingness to play smart and hard, it would not be surprising to see his rankings to improve and rise as time goes on.     Listed as a linebacker, Malone plays more of an outside linebacker/ defensive end role, in which he excels in both the pass and rush game, able to be quick off the snap and use his athleticism to bend around the tackle and create pressure. He has great play recognition and an ability to track down the ball anywhere on the field. Already getting variety snaps in his sophomore season, his ceiling for his position is very high and can develop as a consistent impact player as the year goes on.     Having a standout season last year, and putting in the work over the offseason, Mulusa has gone full speed ahead into this season and has seen that work pay off. Having the athletic frame and tools for both the guard and tackle position, combined with the intensity that he always play with, it will be exciting to see him grow and develop over the next couple of years. Having a ranking within his position group, I would expect that number to steadily climb throughout the season.
