In a disappointing season for the Eagles, Cotton has been a massive bright spot, taking the stage as an elusive and explosive all-purpose back. Though not the biggest back in the state, Kenyen runs as hard and physical as anybody out there. He carries the pill with great security, pad-level, and change of direction. Cotton is extremely sudden and intentional with his footwork and cuts, hitting running lanes with purpose and making defenders miss through the third level. He is a very instinctive runner with violence and precision to his movements. Kenyen has totaled over 1,300 yards and 10 TDs this season, and don’t be surprised when his name heats up on recruiting boards after the season.

Cotton exploded for 264 rushing yards and three touchdowns in Week Three. His combination of speed, burst, and home-run ability makes him a nightmare for defenses. Cotton has the quickness to get to the edge and the strength to break tackles between the tackles. He is establishing himself as a premier young back in DFW and will be a name to follow closely over this season.

One of the most polished and productive players in attendance, Cotton rushed for over 1,000 yards as a sophomore. At the PRZ Showcase, he impressed with his quick feet, compact build, and powerful lower half. His ability to catch out of the backfield, combined with agility and balance, makes him a true three-down back. College coaches should get locked in on him.

Read EvaluationGeorge Feigle | Prep Redzone Scout
Whenever you watch Cotton play, you see someone who plays like they are trying to prove something. Through only a couple of games this year at the varsity level, he is averaging 8.2 yards per carry over 205 yards with two touchdowns, and I would not be surprised of that average maintains or even increases. With consistent snaps on the variety team and an ability to play at this level continually, the progression of Cotton’s play can definitely lead to him getting on and climbing up the rankings.

Cotton made his season debut in Week Zero versus Birdville and he had a stellar performance. He rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns to help Crowley to a big win. He has excellent short area quickness, he his shifty in space and he hits the hole like his hair is on fire with an explosive burst. Cotton plays with a low center of gravity, he runs with excellent pad level and he has the power to break arm tackles. With the North Shore coming to town to face the Eagles this weekend, look for Cotton to get more carries to set the tone for Crowley offensively.

Read EvaluationGeorge Feigle | Prep Redzone Scout
Posting up a staggering 153 yards and 2 touchdowns on 13 carries, Cotton absolutely showed out in week 1. His patience in allowing blocks to develop and his explosion shown running through the line is definitely some of the most impressive within the district. Where he excels even more is his strength and willingness to run through tackles to get extra yards and get touchdowns.
