Stat Leaders- Dominant Tacklers Throughout the State

McGaskin plays with a lot of speed, strength, and relentless pursuit that makes him a massive threat to opposing offenses. McGaskin can track down and tackle skill players with great ease, no matter where he initially lines up- he has the speed to make sideline-to-sideline plays and does so consitently. After a terrific first year last fall, McGaskin has followed it up excellently in his sophomore year. So far this season McGaskin has recorded 73 total tackles (34 solo, 14 for loss), 2 sacks. 3 pass breakups and one forced/recovered fumble. Through the first quarter of the season McGaskin has played extremely well and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. With how well he's played McGaskin has picked up offers from Ohio State, Michigan, Auburn, and plenty of other top tier programs. Everett can make plays in the open field and behind the line of scrimmage- he does a great job tracking and attacking the ball and is always in a position to affect plays. Against the run Everett can quickly react and hit gaps to blow up plays- he has excellent tackling techniques that allow him to never get shaken off. Against the pass, Everett can provide some terrific pressure with how well he blitzes the quarterback but also can make plays dropping back in coverage as well. Everett has been huge for his defense this year, so far through just the first few weeks he's recorded 71 total tackles (48 solo, 8 for loss), 6 hurries, and 2 forced fumbles. Kelly has an elite ability to read and react to opposing offenses and can make tons of open-field tackles, it's super impressive how quickly he diagnoses plays and gets to the ball. Against the pass Kelly does a lot as well, he is a talented blitzer that can stay with some targets in coverage as well. Kelly has repeated much of the same success he's seen over the course of his career- this year Kelly has recorded 51 total tackles (39 solo, 18 for loss), 4 sacks, 2 forced/recovered fumbles, and one interception. Kelly has played really well all four years and has picked up a good bit of collegiate attention in the process- over the last few months he picked up offers from Tuskegee, Alabama State, Army, and many others. Neill had a terrific sophomore season last fall and has followed it up really well this year- he plays with a ton of speed and physicality that allows him to make plays all over the field. Neill is a talented tackler, he has great pursuit, wraps up really well, and doesnt' allow for any additional yards to be gained after he makes first contact. It's really impressive watching him play against the run, he does a great job filling in gaps and taking the ball carrier down right at or behind the line of scrimmage. So far this season it's been easy to see these traits- Neill has gotten off to a terrific start and has recorded 65 total tackles (36 solo, 5 for loss) and 2 sacks. Watch out for Neill the rest of this season, he has become a key piece of Baysides defense and is bound to continue making big plays throughout the rest of the year!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
