Everett was unstoppable against Baldwin County last week. He racked up 13 total tackles and pressured the opposing QB multiple times, making an impact every down.

It could be a tough week for MGM’s rushing attack. Everett is incredibly gifted at defending the run and consntaly finds his way into the backfield to create huge stops for loss. He’ll for sure be a player to watch for this week.

Everett can make plays in the open field and behind the line of scrimmage- he does a great job tracking and attacking the ball and is always in a position to affect plays. Against the run Everett can quickly react and hit gaps to blow up plays- he has excellent tackling techniques that allow him to never get shaken off. Against the pass, Everett can provide some terrific pressure with how well he blitzes the quarterback but also can make plays dropping back in coverage as well. Everett has been huge for his defense this year, so far through just the first few weeks he’s recorded 71 total tackles (48 solo, 8 for loss), 6 hurries, and 2 forced fumbles. Everett displayed great pursuit angles, ensuring that he was always around the ball and rarely missed a tackle. His ability to read the quarterback’s eyes also allowed him to anticipate passes, adding an interception to his stats. Everett’s high-motor play kept the opposing offense in check throughout the game.

After averaging close to 10 tackles a game in Gulf Shores’ state title run in 2023, Everett has picked up right where he left off. In the season opening loss to Choctawhatchee, Florida, Everett posted 20 total tackles including 7 solo stops. The linebacker also had 3 quarterback hurries on the night. Everett never stops pursuing in spite of facing 2 to 3 blockers. He will battle until the whistle and loves contact. Everett is a name to watch in the class of 2026.
