Neill had another great performance last week, racking up 10 total tackles (6 solo, one for loss).

Neill is a highly productive LB prospect with both a unique and impressive T/F background. In 2025, he launched the shot put over 45 feet and the javelin over 149 feet. He has several occasions of throwing the discus over 149 feet and finished second in the state in 2024 with a 149′ 03” benchmark. He is an active defender with quick feet, allowing him to react quickly and knife past blockers. At contact, he consistently proves he can drop his pad level and drive the screws of his helmet into traffic. Has a sideline-to-sideline motor. Neill holds an offer from UNA and is vastly underrated given his production and proven athleticism.

He consistently reads plays with precision, allowing him to diagnose run schemes and drop into coverage effectively. Known for his quick lateral movement and explosive closing speed, Neill excels at wrapping up ball carriers in open space. His ability to shed blockers and maintain gap integrity makes him a key force in stopping the run. With strong leadership skills and high football IQ, he’s poised to lead his team’s defense to new heights in 2025.

Neill is a versatile linebacker who is capable of making huge plays. Neill is good at fighting through blocks to tackle the ball carrier, has excellent pursuit and closing speed, and has vision that allows him to easily locate the ball and make plays whether he’s on special teams or defense. Neill had a really impressive junior season that featured him racking up a ridiculous 208 total tackles (125 solo, 8 for loss), 3 hurries, and 4 sacks. It’s been really fun seeing how quickly Neill has developed- on tape it’s clear that Neill has become a leader of this Bayside defense in a short amount of time, and he’s only going to keep getting better. Be sure to keep track of Neill next fall, he has a ton of potential and is sure to have a huge senior year!

Billy Neill Billy Neill 6'1" | 200 lbs | LB Bayside | 2026 State AL showcased his versatility on both sides of the ball in the Admirals’ victory over Alabama Christian. Offensively, he rushed for 84 yards and two touchdowns, giving his team a strong ground attack. On defense, Neill was everywhere, recording an incredible 21 tackles. His physical presence and leadership were crucial in keeping Alabama Christian’s offense in check. Neill’s all-around contributions were vital in the Admirals’ road win.

Neill had a terrific sophomore season last fall and has followed it up really well this year- he plays with a ton of speed and physicality that allows him to make plays all over the field. Neill is a talented tackler, he has great pursuit, wraps up really well, and doesnt’ allow for any additional yards to be gained after he makes first contact. It’s really impressive watching him play against the run, he does a great job filling in gaps and taking the ball carrier down right at or behind the line of scrimmage. So far this season it’s been easy to see these traits- Neill has gotten off to a terrific start and has recorded 65 total tackles (36 solo, 5 for loss) and 2 sacks. Watch out for Neill the rest of this season, he has become a key piece of Baysides defense and is bound to continue making big plays throughout the rest of the year!
