Southern Nevada's Early-Season Stock Risers

<p><em>Breaking down the stock-rising Nevada prospects through the early part of the 2024 season. </em></p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Tuitele has shown more of the flashes he put on tape as a sophomore that helped him land on PRZ NV's 2025 WL. The 6'3"/205 ILB has looked stronger and more physical as a tackler while showing his versatility as both an off-ball defender and as an edge rusher. He holds an athletic build at 6'3"/205, shows good speed and lateral range tracking sideline-to-sideline, and can bend and change levels around the edge as a pass rusher. Tuitele- a two-sport athlete in basketball and football- is an underrated 2025 defender that should start to generate some traction on the recruiting trial in the coming months with the athleticism and versatility he offers.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/TuiteleAj/status/1827618169474970055 </div></figure>     <p>White is the state's current leader in sacks with 11 in DPAC's first four games of the season. He's an athletic defender off the edge at 6'3"/190 with explosive speed and promising length to his frame. He's a lean DE that will need to continue to bulk and add strength but his speed and quickness off the ball give him an athletic advantage over slower moving OTs. He can close on the ball in the backfield, possesses the range to track wide in containment, and shows his physicality as a tackler. White's putting together a breakout junior campaign with the high-level production he's shown so far. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/dayvonewhite17/status/1833619022644187655 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Manning's been an early-season breakout defender for Faith Lutheran with 2 sacks, 6 TFLs, a pick-six, and a team-leading 34 total tackles in the Crusaders' 3-0 start. The son of former UCLA standout and current Raiders CBs coach (Ricky Manning Jr.), Manning III is a physical LB that excels as a downhill attacker that can create negative plays as both a run defender and a blitzing pass rusher. He's shown some coverage skills and ability to play in space from the ILB spot, but the greatest upside he brings to the next level will likely come from the power and physicality he provides between the OTs. Manning is an intriguing newcomer to keep an eye on the rest of the 2024 season.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Welbourne's delivered some of the most impressive WR performances in Nevada through the early part of the season. The senior wideout put together one of the most productive outings of his career this past week with 7 catches for 153 yards and 3 TDs in a win over Sunrise Mountain. He's an underrated athlete that's continued to prove himself as a valuable downfield weapon since showing flashes of his vertical skillset as a junior. He gains ground on DBs with smooth, deceptive speed, is a playmaker with the ball in his hands, and finishes catches with focused ball-tracking, ability to high-point, and reliable hands. He's also a well-rounded, versatile player that plays in all three phases for Boulder City. Welbourne- currently a watchlist WR in PRZ NV's 2025 rankings- is putting together a senior season that should land him in the official rankings in the next cycle.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/EastonWelbourne/status/1832474491076931733 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Daniel has been Nevada's most productive rusher with nearly 1,000 yards rushing and 8 TDs through SAL's first four games. The 6'1/180 ATH is one of the most dynamic playmakers in Nevada's 2026 class and a weapon the Lions' coaching staff smartly looks to get the ball in the hands of on a consistent basis. He shows speed and wiggle with the ball in his hands, is effective as a receiver, and navigates tight areas around the LOS with vision and patience. Daniel is one of the top athletes to watch in Nevada's 4A division. </p>      <p class="text-gray-700">Thatcher's the only Nevada QB to eclipse 1,000 passing yards through the early portion of the season in Arbor View's impressive 3-0 start. I had the opportunity to see him in person against one of the top defensive units in San Diego and was highly impressed by his operation of the offense and overall development as a second-year starter. He's a talented passer that shows consistent accuracy in the shallow area and flashes his mobility avoiding pressure and making plays outside the pocket. He set a state record in passing yards (583) in the Aggies' season-opener and has racked up 13 passing TDs but needs to continue to work on limiting turnovers (4 INTs on the season).
