Five impressive Week 3 Wide Receivers

For one, his YAC was insane. Granted, Algonac looked like an awful tacking team, but you can definitely see some good athleticism from TJ. Namely, at 0:37, TJ evades about six defenders as he jukes his way to big YAC. The punt return at 1:20 shows more of that elusiveness, and I think it's his best play of the season so far. It's impressive that TJ was able to score in such a variety of ways, and I'm looking forward to seeing that TJ does against stronger competition. He was utilized extremely well on offense, mainly as a deep threat. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">The first highlight showcases a great post route where he straight-up burns his defender. At 1:12, Tommy runs a nice curl and sneaks by the defender, leading to some good YAC. I don't love the fundamentals of his route-running, but he's, at the very least, explosive and has solid top speed. Lastly, I think the defensive play at 1:50 is one of Tommy's best highlights. Tommy takes an incredibly good pursuit angle to save the touchdown. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Great tape! I mean turn on the tape and see for yourself. His first highlight showcases incredible instincts. As the back attempts to reverse course, Isaac fires toward the ballcarrier and makes a linebacker-like play. Further on, the play at 0:26 shows an awesome double move that leaves the DB in the dust. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Just watch the full tape. Isaac's week 3 highlights are dynamic, varied, and it showcases his dominance in several areas. The more I see of Isaac, the more he creeps toward a D1 evaluation. He's always been a rock-solid receiver that you can line up anywhere on the field. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>So far this season, Logan has caught a lot of passes in a wide variety of routes. The highlight at 0:43 showcases a solid crossing route down the middle of the field. Once Logan secures the catch, he does a solid job attempting to work upfield. At 0:25, Logan runs a great dig route and does a great job of securing the catch and sliding before he gets hit. Overall, I love how Logan is being utilized. He's running a wide variety of routes, and he's doing a great job of securing catches and getting what he can after the catch. It's immediately obvious the role Tyler plays within this offense. He's most commonly lined up as the X receiver on his own side of the field. Ideally, Brother Rice wants to put him on an island with a DB. His first highlight shows some of that potential as Tyler secures the well-thrown back-shoulder fade. In addition, the highlight at 0:37 showcases a pretty explosive slant route, and a nice grab in traffic. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Defensively, Tyler has one phenomenal PBU at 0:14. Other than that, he's got a few good tackles but nothing else for the time being. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I have no doubt that Tyler will continue to improve throughout this season. The Catholic League houses some of the best competition in the state, and to be the best, you have to go against the best.
