In a match-up of top five teams in Class 5A, it was an absolute blowout from the opening series as #5 Del City went on the road and took down #2 Collinsville 61-10. It should be noted that the Cardinals were without their starting quarterback and starting running back but this was a game of complete domination from the Eagles. They did almost whatever they wanted on the offensive side of the ball and the Cardinals finished with negative rushing yards as the Eagles completely owned the line of scrimmage. It was a statement win for Del City as they've now won three in a row following a week zero loss to Edmond Memorial. Below, we put the spotlight on some of the players that stood out to us throughout the night. And for complete highlights and postgame reaction, check out our YouTube Channel!

Cash Koertner - Sophomore Quarterback

The quarterback position was the biggest question mark for us with Del City coming into this season. Sophomore signal caller Cash Koertner has earned the nod at QB1 and he's had a solid showing so far this season. The one thing that has stood out to us is his steady improvement over the last few weeks. There is no doubt that the Eagles have weapons at the skill positions and as long as Koertner can limit mistakes and get some time in the pocket, there aren't many teams that are going to be able to contain Del City's speed so somebody is going to be open. Koertner is a new name for us to watch moving forward but we're looking forward to seeing what his production looks like by the end of the year.

[player_tooltip player_id='598829' first='D'Marion' last='Turner'] - Senior Defensive Back

Collinsville's offense struggled on Friday night so senior defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='598829' first='D'Marion' last='Turner'] wasn't tested as much as he might be moving forward in the pass game. But that doesn't mean that Turner still didn't have some standout moments in the 61-10 win. In fact, most of Turner's damage came on the offensive side of the ball and early on in the game. Turner came in as a wildcat quarterback and scored Del City's first touchdown of the night. And we got a good chance on the sideline to watch Turner go to work at the cornerback position. Del City puts him out there on an island and they don't have to worry about him. He was going to be able to stay with anyone that he matched up with on Friday.

Josiah Chester - Sophomore Wide Receiver

Sophomore Josiah Chester was a new name for us to get familiar with after his performance on Friday night. Chester is an athletic wide receiver that will give plenty of opponents a lot of problems this season. It didn't take long for Chester to have an impact on Friday night as he made several catches early on, including a touchdown in the first half. We really like the depth of talent at the skill positions for the Eagles. And the fact that there are several contributors that are only sophomores this season should be a scary thing for the rest of Class 5A. Del City has several running backs that can beat a defense and now with the emergence of Chester at wide receiver, they have several receivers that can do the same.

[player_tooltip player_id='1035154' first='Kaleb' last='Blackwolf'] - Sophomore Running Back/Defensive Back

We were fired up to see sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1035154' first='Kaleb' last='Blackwolf'] in person on Friday night and he did not disappoint. He impressed us last season when he was a freshman at El Reno but this was our first chance to watch him in person. And Blackwolf impacted the game in all three phases. Offensively, Blackwolf was one of several running backs that would find the end zone and produce at a high level. Defensively, that might have been where Blackwolf impressed us the most from his safety position. And then in special teams, Blackwolf was one of two guys that would consistently flip the field with explosive punt returns. The sophomore is incredibly dynamic and appears to be the complete package.

[player_tooltip player_id='598825' first='MiShaun' last='Graham'] - Senior Wide Receiver

While Chester was a new name for us to watch at the wide receiver position, that wasn't the case for senior [player_tooltip player_id='598825' first='MiShaun' last='Graham'] as he was one of our top players to watch for Del City this season. Graham is absolutely electric with the football in his hands and he has the ability to take the top off the defense and be that deep threat for the Del City offense. And Graham was also able to help out in special teams on Friday night as a punt returner. Whether it was Blackwolf or Graham, it felt like every time Del City returned a punt, they were able to flip the field and set the offense up with great field position. Graham had a great junior season and is looking to build on that momentum this year with the Eagles.

[player_tooltip player_id='587262' first='Ricklan' last='B Holmes II'] - Junior Running Back/Linebacker

Coming into Friday night's game, we were fired up to see Del City junior [player_tooltip player_id='587262' first='Ricklan' last='B Holmes II'] because he was the best player in the match-up. He certainly lived up to the hype and he did it on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he's a linebacker playing running back so he uses brute physicality against his opponents and finished the night with some big plays in the running game. But defensively, that's where Holmes shined and why he's one of the top overall prospects in the state's 2026 class. Holmes has a nose for the football and gets from point A to point B in the blink of an eye. He was all over the field on Friday night and when he gets to his destination, he always has bad intentions for whoever has the ball.

The Entire Defensive Line

So this last one is a bit of a cop out but whenever you're talking about holding a team to negative rushing yards for all four quarters, the defensive line was absolutely dominant. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='595753' first='Charvis' last='Kelley'] [player_tooltip player_id='1099358' first='Quay' last='Goodman'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1099359' first='Tay' last='Johnson'] along with junior JJ Cheatom were impossible to stop on Friday night. They were living in the backfield and when they weren't making the stop as a unit, it would free up one of the backers to come up and make the tackle. Del City's front seven really impressed us but it definitely started along the line of scrimmage. It was dominant play by the Eagles along the defensive line and this unit is a big reason why we think the Eagles are state championship contenders.
