Defensive Standouts Wrecking Week 4 Opponents

The defenders were making names for themselves in Week 4! I believe almost every athlete in today's recap is brand new to our radar, and the first time we have written about them. So get to know this group right along with us. It is a group of DL, LB, and DB recruits who crushed the week. We have multi-sack or INT games. Plus double digit tackles and a lot of TFLs to go through with this group. Let's get it started! Enjoy!    Stats: 12 Tackles, 2 Sacks   Ryan dominated at DE in Week 4. You won't find many DL collecting 12 tackles, but that is what the senior DE did. The first impression from Ryan's tape is that the 6'2" 225 lbs has a stout anchor to hold the line of scrimmage while taking on offensive linemen. The senior repeatedly stood up OTs, then was able to shed the blocks using his hands and lateral movement. Cameron did a great job of finding the ball, even while engaged. Ryan also made a few high motor plays that only happened because of his constant battle to defeat blocks and get after the ball until the whistle blew. Check out the senior DE.      Stats: 9 Tackles, 1 INT, 1 Sack, 1 PBU, 1 Fumble Recovery   The senior LB out of Middleton produced in basically every way possible at the LB position. Attacking downhill, dropping into coverage, playing the run, or rushing the passer. Kaden was able to make an impact in all situations. The senior has easy range to be able to chase down plays outside the tackles and especially has an effective closing burst. Kaden's film shows that he does a great job of finding the ball and meeting it in the hole in the run game. It is great watching him fly around the front seven too because he did a great job of avoiding blocks while still getting after the football. The senior has sound instincts and could be a hidden gem.      Stats: 13 Tackles, 1 Sack, 1 TFL, 1 INT, 1 PBU, 1 FF   The EC Memorial junior DB has been producing well all season long, and Week 4 might have been his best yet. The safety brings speed to the position, allowing him to easily roam either a deep half or attack the run game from his deep alignment. I'm impressed by his versatility too. Not only does he have the instincts and range to play deep, Ryan has shown he can get more in the box and use that quick twitch athleticism to slice through the front seven to make tackles without getting blocked. Ryan also did a great job of reading plays and reacting without hesitation. The smart, decisive, and athletic safety will be a name to watch over this next year.      Stats: 9 Tackles, 6 TFLs, 2 Sacks   The junior DE/edge defender was a nightmare off the edge. He set up residency in the opposing backfield and disrupted play after play. That led to a lot of killed drives in favor of Kettle Moraine. I'm impressed by the well-rounded athlete. He is able to win with power, running through block attempts or bull rushing his man into the backfield. The junior also plays with solid range for the position that has given him the ability to pursue out in space and chase down the ball. Hawk's short area lateral movement also made him very hard for OL to land square blocks on him and also stick blocks on him. Check out the rising athlete.      Stats: 7 Tackles, 2 TFLs, 1 Sack, 1 Forced Fumble   Verona and Vel Phillips Memorial played in a back and forth defensive battle that resulted in Verona taking the 10-0 lead. So all the production that Boden created was very much needed to secure this victory. The OLB/DE scored the lone TD of the game on a scoop and score after fighting through a block to get to the QB just as the ball came out. Boden has a great frame that brings the power as he sets a strong edge vs the run. The junior flashed an effective first step off the snap and was able to transition that speed to power on contact with OTs. Boden brings that relentless attitude needed to win off the edge. Get him on your radars today.      Stats: 6 Tackles, 1 TFL, 3 Sacks   A sophomore making a name for himself is Coleman's DL [player_tooltip player_id='1620378' first='Bryce' last='Seefeldt']. He was all over the backfield in Week 4 and definitely has our attention going forward. The sophomore is developing a quick burst off the edge that OTs can't cut off if they don't get hands on him right away. Bryce is also building up his hand fighting technique. He used those moves well to disengage and give him those split seconds to get to the heels of his OT. The range and effort is there to chase down the QB when he breaks the pocket also. I'm very excited for the future of the raw, athletic, productive sophomore. Check him out!      Stats: 6 Tackles, 4 TFLs, 1 Sack   The high school season is underway and we have a standout LB from Franklin to talk about. All is right with the world. The next impressive athlete coming out of the Sabers program is the 6'3" 205 lbs junior, [player_tooltip player_id='1610029' first='Tyler' last='Richter']. The film from the week is short, but it flashes exciting potential and talent. Richter has effective athleticism to rocket downhill against the run and easily pursue outside of the tackles. On the blitz Tyler is able to accelerate quickly, create power to disengage quickly, and stay on his path to the QB. Check out the film and keep an eye on this kid.      Stats: 4 Tackles, 2 INTs   We are four weeks into the season and junior safety [player_tooltip player_id='1610210' first='Sam' last='Wells'] made his 4th and 5th INTs of the season against Menomonee Falls. The 6'1" 185 lbs junior is so quick with his play recognition and pairs that with next level speed. Those two together give him the range to make plays all over the field from his safety position. The safety has natural ball skills, easily high pointing the ball and making toe tapping catches along the sideline. The instincts are definitely developing quickly for the talented junior. We will be watching him closely, and college recruiters should be as well.
