Verona has no shortage of talented LBs on their roster returning in 2025. One of the first to know among the group is edge rusher Boden Brotzman Boden Brotzman 6'2" | 225 lbs | LB Verona | 2026 State WI . The 6’2″ 225 lbs junior dominated off the edge in 2024, finishing with 20 TFLs and 7 sacks on top of his 59 tackles. Boden has a bright future and nowhere near fully tapped into his potential. As a pass rusher you see him use his length to get his hands inside and pairs that with leverage to drive OTs into the lap of QBs. His strength is unfair when Boden gets a TE on him, quickly shedding the block and making the tackle. There is no shortage of strength for the ’26 OLB. He also has an explosive first step when rushing from a 2 or 3 point stance. What is really great to see is that a lot of his highlights are from the biggest games his team had this past season. Brotzman is a prime time performer who steps up in the biggest moments. The arrow is pointing up for this kid. Big things ahead for him.

Unfortunately, Verona saw their season end in Level 2 vs Arrowhead, but junior edge defender Boden Brotzman Boden Brotzman 6'2" | 225 lbs | LB Verona | 2026 State WI went out with an impressive performance. Arrowhead has a very good offensive line, so watching Boden win rep after rep says a lot about the player he is and the potential that his future holds. Right off the bat the junior edge defender shows his raw power and ability to win the leverage battle as he bull rushed his way to backfield disruption. The junior did a great job of playing with his hands and keeping separation from OTs. Boden was also able to play stout on the edge vs the outside run. He didn’t give ground, forced the ball inside, and disengaged to make the tackle out in space. I’m very excited to watch the 2026 develop this offseason.

Verona and Vel Phillips Memorial played in a back and forth defensive battle that resulted in Verona taking the 10-0 lead. So all the production that Boden created was very much needed to secure this victory. The OLB/DE scored the lone TD of the game on a scoop and score after fighting through a block to get to the QB just as the ball came out. Boden has a great frame that brings the power as he sets a strong edge vs the run. The junior flashed an effective first step off the snap and was able to transition that speed to power on contact with OTs. Boden brings that relentless attitude needed to win off the edge.
